I had an excellent experience. Everyone was friendly, helpful, and made the whole process easy from start to finish. Malinda was great to work with, and John made checking out quick and easy while answering my questions. The entire team was professional and welcoming. I definitely recommend them.

Sent my 19 year old daughter in there to get her exam and pick out glasses today I could not go with her, and they were horrible to her. She said they treated her like they didn’t want her in there at all, and like they hated to do their job. We’re not courteous or accommodating or helpful, offered no insight. Very bad experience for a young woman doing these things on her own finally. I do not recommend, and when we go back to pick up her glasses that she finally managed to order I’m going to tell them about it. These employees need a lesson in customer service and friendliness. This was the Coralville IA location 5/26/26 late afternoon
I was very impressed with my experience at America’s Best in Coralville. Samantha was able to access my vision insurance online and let me know immediately what my coverage (often complicated?!) was right away. I brought in my prescription from my longtime eye dr and purchased the frames there. Samantha was very knowledgeable and could answer all my questions. She did not pressure me yet took the time to explain all the options and let me decide what I felt was best. That is not the case at all places. Definitely will use this store again and have recommended it to others.
I ordered a pair of no line bifocal. I just couldn't get used to them. I returned to the store in Coralville, Iowa and explained the problem. I said I wanted to send them back in to get regular bifocal. When I was notified the glasses had arrived, I went to the store and was served by two young ladies who adjusted the frames for a better fit to my face. When I asked how much I owed for the change in lenses, I was shocked to learn there was no charge. Great service!!!!
Frustrating Experience Last year during my eye exam I decided to try contact lenses, so they ordered trial lenses for me. I was told they would arrive in about a month, but no one ever contacted me. After about two months, I stopped by the store myself only to find out that either someone else had taken them or they were never ordered in the first place. They had to reorder them, which took another month. When I finally picked up the trial lenses, they simply handed them to me. No one showed me how to put them in, how to use them, or gave me any guidance and no one informed me that I needed to come back to finalize the prescription. Fast forward to now (months later) when I tried ordering contacts through another company, my order was denied because the doctor hadn’t finalized the prescription. I called the store and asked if they could finalize it. The person I spoke with told me they would check with the doctor and finalize it for me. However, when I tried to order again a few days later, it was denied again. When I called back, I was told the doctor would not finalize the prescription because I never returned after receiving the trial lenses and that it was now too late — meaning I would need to schedule and pay for another exam. Very frustrating because I was never told I needed to return to finalize the prescription. And I was told over the phone that it could be finalized, only to be told later that it couldn’t. Now I’m about to go on vacation and was hoping to wear contacts instead of glasses, but because of the miscommunication and lack of follow-up from the store, that’s no longer possible. Overall, the communication and customer service were very disappointing.
