Doctor was super thorough. Found a cataract and took quite a bit of time to ensure I understood what was ahead of me if I opted for surgery. He also advised I not even call to schedule my next visit (for pre-surgery measurements) until I had taken a few days to think about it. Explained pros and cons to choosing a stronger lens. Im very pleased with my visit and don't feel stressed out at all about my need for surgery, being armed as I was with pertinent information.
I had my eye appointment on June 26, and it took nearly a month before I was notified that my regular glasses were ready. At that time, I was told my sunglasses had not passed the quality inspection and had to be sent back. Unfortunately, no one contacted me to explain the delay. On July 28, I called for an update and was told the sunglasses should arrive later that day or on July 29, and that I would receive a phone call when they came in. I never received that call. I followed up again on July 30 and was told the sunglasses had arrived and that a text message had been sent to me on July 27. That explanation made no sense because I had already called on July 28 asking about them, and I never received any text message. I was then told my phone number had been entered incorrectly, but that also doesn't add up because they had successfully called me earlier to let me know my regular glasses were ready. After waiting over a month, I was excited to finally pick up my sunglasses, only to find out they were made incorrectly. They had to be sent back again. I explained that I would be returning to work soon, and the staff member I spoke with promised she would call me on Monday, August 3. That call never came. Overall, the communication has been poor, the service has been inconsistent, and I still do not have my sunglasses. Considering how expensive their products are, I expected much better customer service and attention to detail. The eye doctor was professional and consistent, but my experience with the optical department has been extremely disappointing. The selection of frames is also limited. I gave them a chance, but based on my experience, I would recommend saving your time and money and going somewhere else. This entire process has been frustrating and unacceptable.
I really like the staff at Artisan Optics. Everyone there is very friendly and knowledgeable. They have a nice selection of glasses and some pop up sales to see even more glasses by vendors. The front end staff is very helpful in helping you pick out lenses also. Dr. Johnson is very knowledgeable and we always have a fun time with him. The whole staff does an amazing job at making an eye appointment a pleasant experience.
Dr. Ryan Johnson does a great job of engaging in conversation with all ages! You can tell he really loves his patience. He really knows his stuff when it comes to optometry, and explains it well to those of us who don’t! So glad we found this place.
