Update: One star to four stars due to outstanding response from management. They reached out to us and addressed the situation promptly and professionally, and to our satsfaction. They acknowledged the situation, shared how they were going to respond, apologized for our experience, and reiterated how the behavior was misaligned with their business ethos. Profound and sincerest thanks. The reason I am giving one star is because Dr. Brunson is phenomenal, but he's only there a couple of days a week now. My advice would be to see him for your opthamologic care, and then shop for retail elsewhere. My husband and I just had a service experience that could not have been worse. We came to buy glasses today, and the saleperson did not greet us or offer to assist in any way. In fact, when we requested to view some frames, we were verbally harassed by the salesperson: "Are you PATIENTS here? Do you HAVE a prescription here?" We were shocked, and when we affirmed, she said, "Well, we need a bunch of other STUFF to do that, like insurance." Her tone and body language could not have been more hostile, aggressive, or unprovoked, indicating our very presence in the retail space was problematic for her. From then on, the interaction was a chaotic barrage of dismissal and denial of basic customer service. She exasperatedly researched our insurance benefits, openly argued with us, and failed to engage us in the most basic forms of respect and communication necessary to transact a sale, such as price quoting, benefits, updates about her activity, offers for seating, product features, fitting assistance, determining our need, etc. We had to solicit absolutely every piece of information and initiate every request necessary for us participate in, understand, and consent to what was taking place. My husband and I were very close to simply walking out of the business without making a purchase. My family has been coming to Beaverdale Eye for literal decades, and we will likely not be returning for retail. The expert, caring, and service-driven ethos nurtured by Dr. Brunson and Hartzell before him has gone straight downhill, which correlates with a shift in management. It is not worth your time, effort, or money to deal with staffmembers like this. Spare yourself the humiliation, frustration, and shame that has no business in the marketplace, especially not a local, family-owned, neighborhood healthcare establishment.

Update: Changed review from 1 > 4 star. Management reached out to talk about our experience and how they will be responding to what we dealt with. My family has been going to this office for multiple years to include times where we would drive for more than an hour. Dr Brunsen is phenomenal but the sales staff is atrocious. I will take the sales team at Walmart any day. Get your eye exam on a Tuesday or Thursday to be with Dr Brunsen and take your prescription elsewhere.
I have been a client for 15 years. The number of office staff has grown considerably, but their service levels have dropped. After multiple visits, countless phone calls, and emails, I am still waiting for my refund check for glasses paid on February 16th. Mistakes happen; we are all human, but this string of errors, along with unprofessional work and zero accountability, is unacceptable.
Dr Thomas is the absolute best. She is the best optometrist I’ve ever had. Thank you to the kind and friendly staff at Beaverdale Eye. Everyone here is nice, efficient and welcoming. Thank you again!
Thanks for squeezing me in and sorry I always forget to schedule my annual exam in time! :) I appreciate your terrific service.
