Everyone was friendly and I got what I needed. Things took a bit longer than expected. Not sure if their computers were down or if they just didn't know how to navigate them well. They're also trained very well on making sure you are aware of their amazing extended warranty. They even sneak it in in passing to say they added it to your purchase and you need to opt out. At work I had a training where they said some people measure the day based on how many tasks they complete, and others based on how many human interactions they had. This is geared more towards having many human interactions versus getting things done efficiently. I guess Americans like to say "there is no such thing as a stupid question!" and "it never hurts to ask!" So even though you've told them you had your previous pair of glasses for ten years, it's a secondary pair for evenings, and you don't want the warranty and there is no logical reason why someone doing critical thinking would want a warranty in this situation, they will still repeatedly ask about it. But we're measuring success by human interactions and not by how many tasks we get done here. I guess if you're lonely, have lots of free time, are starved of human contact in your daily life, and are very careless with your glasses this is the perfect place for you.

Tried contacts for the first time in my life - had the absolutely best experience ever First - I’ve never had an eye doctor be so empathetic to my specific circumstances before. Going over all concerns, options, being upfront and honest, and also relating back to her own experiences. Just absolutely the best experience with an eye doctor and ive been wearing glasses since I was 5 :) Next but certainly not the least important was my experience with Chantel who taught me how to put my contacts in. When I tell you this person is personally invested in your success I really mean it. I could feel the optimism, the constructive feedback, and also the absolute belief that it’ll go well. It’s like having a good friend there for moral support without even actually having a friend there. I cannot recommend the folks at this location enough. Been working with them 7 years that I’ve lived in lakeview and can’t imagine going elsewhere.
I had an eye emergency pop up randomly today and I tried going to three other eye doctor locations and none of the doctors were in. I called Big City Optical and they got me in right away. The staff are incredibly friendly and very welcoming! Dr. Rasa Tamulavichus was amazing! She was very kind, very thorough in explaining everything going on, and was patient with all my questions. I never felt rushed or unheard at all. My experience was so incredible, I ended up booking my next eye exam there. Highly recommend!
Scammy and rude, go somewhere else. They guaranteed us a $300 rebate on a $600 pack of contacts and in the end told us the manufacturer can’t give us the rebate and would not accept a return on the contacts. We tried to escalate the matter and Chantal (sp?) called us back offering us a $100 credit for future use (she suggested we buy eye drops with it), but no solution for the $300 rebate issue. They’ve been rude and condescending every time we’ve spoken to them and don’t call us back when they say they’re going to. Save your sanity and go to Art of Sight instead
I needed an eye exam after surgery on one of my retinas. I found Big City’s staff to be very warm upon entry and very professional in addressing my needs. They were punctual and pleasant all the way to the doctor who gave me my final exam. I was in and out in less than half an hour. It was a very good experience, and I will be going back.
