I waited a little while to write this review because I wanted to put the advice I was given into practice and see if it made a difference. I'm happy to report it did! I had repeated problems with dry eyes that got bad enough around the holidays that I decided to go in for a thorough eye exam and try to understand what was happening with my vision. Dr. Van Meter and the staff here were thoughtful, kind, and informative every step of the way. Dr. Van Meter was diligent, thorough, and most importantly helpful. He helped me understand the root cause of my dry eyes and also noticed that I was using reading glasses to compensate for a condition I didn't even know I had. He prescribed me a pair of glasses that has made a world of difference for me. I can see and work much more effectively now without constant eye strain. The high-quality coatings on the prescription lenses make them much easier to take care of than cheap pharmacy readers too. When I first walked into this practice, I didn't understand what was wrong with my vision, and I was anxious about it. Now I have an effective eye care routine along with glasses that make my life so much better. Thank you Dr. Van Meter and your excellent team of professionals.

I found this office through my insurance to remove a small cyst from my tear duct. While scheduling was easy and the facility is nice, the actual experience felt optimized for their profit rather than my care. I feel like they completely lost sight of the main reason for my visit. The Issues: Lack of Consent for Testing Before seeing the doctor, a tech administered pressure and glaucoma tests without my prior knowledge or consent. When I expressed nervousness, the tech brushed it off without explaining anything about the test or why it was necessary. Even though my insurance covered it, billing for unauthorized tests is a major red flag. Distractions & Upselling When I finally saw Dr. Burrell, she confirmed the cyst but immediately shifted focus to an "overpopulation of eye mites." I was instructed to buy two OTC OCuSOFT products at the front desk for $60 (which I later found on Amazon for $40). As for my actual cyst? She told me to use a hot compress on it for a month to see if it reabsorbs into my body and to schedule a follow-up. Padding Appointments During the intake, the tech asked about dry eyes. I casually mentioned they only get dry when I smoke marijuana, but they formally added "dry eyes" to my medical chart. The Runaround A month later, the hot compresses had done absolutely nothing. I called to ensure my upcoming second appointment would be the actual cyst removal. Instead, the tech told me the doctor wanted to use that visit to follow up on the "dry eyes" and eye mites, and just "assess" the cyst again before scheduling the removal. It shouldn't take three separate appointments (and three co-pays) to remove a minor cyst. After failing to reach an agreement for cyst removal to be done on my next visit, I canceled my appointment and decided I'll just find another Dr. If you want a provider who respects your time, your consent, and your wallet, I would look elsewhere. I felt "squeezed" for profit every step of the way.

Super awesome Doctors of Optometry and clinical/technical staff. I have been going to Centennial Eye & Cosmetic Associates for about 10 + years. I have only ever had fantastic service and care. I have had some significant eye issues arise, and the doctors and staff have had the expertise and knowledge to handle all of them. I feel that I am in very capable hands with really friendly doctors and staff. I couldn’t recommend them more highly.

This was hands down the most positive appointment I’ve ever had at the eye doctor. On the initial phone call to schedule a medical eye exam, Alex was incredibly kind, empathetic, and responsive. She helped me schedule a prompt appointment and was very patient with the insurance process. Upon arriving, Izzy went above and beyond to make sure I made it to the office safely; she was very compassionate and graceful as I ran slightly behind and couldn’t find my way through the sliding front doors (long day teaching - ha). As for the visit itself, it was incredibly smooth, informative, and helpful. I truly felt cared for like a family member. The doctor patiently took time to explain my eye issue in-depth, describing the root issue and suggesting ways to alleviate the pain. They sell their products/over-the-counter meds at an honest price. Everyone was very genuine toward me and made me feel so comfortable. I think I’ve found my new eye doctor! Give this place a chance - you seriously won’t regret it! Thank you guys for everything!

It was awhile since I got an eye exam. My doctor was DR. Van meter during the exam he was going so fast I didn’t even have time to react I would tell him to slow down but he didn’t and he also brought a women who seemed like she was training to be a eye doctor and he wouldn’t stop flirting with her. He was more focused on talking to her than my exam and he didn’t check my stigmatism so he got my prescription wrong the first time. So I had to go back and see him a 2nd time because the prescription was incorrect I wasn’t able to see at night. During the 2nd time the same thing happened he was just more focused on flirting with the women instead of my exam he was rushing through my exam it was an unpleasant feeling. I recommend going to Americas best down the street from this place they have a 2 glasses deal with a free eye exam for only $69 to go along with it they rechecked my eyes and told me DR Van meter got my prescription wrong twice i honestly don’t think DR Van meter knows what he is doing i strongly advise not to go to this place seems like they just want money and don’t care about there Clients.
