Bad experience at the lake Mary location. I've seen Dr Scrugs a few times for Botox injections. It was always a pleasant experience. The first few visits were fine. I waited a year before going back due because I didn't need the procedure. Upon scheduling this time I explained the previous costs to scheduling and confirmed it would be the same as the other procedures. I arrived for my appointment time and was told that because it had been a year since my last visit, the prices have changed. It was once $74 total cost ($50 copay plus $24 cash price for 2 units Botox). This time I was told it would be $175 cash price. I showed them my receipts from the last visit, to which they lowered the cost to $125 stating a lot changes in a year.... So I canceled the apt. I'll find a doctor that treats the customers respectfully and hasn't gotten greedy with billing. I heard the tech speaking directly to Dr Scruggs referencing the charges, so I have no one else to complain to. Beware-

From the first day I walked in I was treated kindly and given answers to my questions. They helped me get the appointment promptly. The day of procedure the entire staff were accommodating and the doctor did an amazing job with the procedure. Her assistant was very nice and made me feel at ease. My eye is healing nicely. I’m so happy with their professionalism.

The doctor was great. He diagnosed my situation right away. Unfortunately, you do not accept my insurance. I notified you today. I will not be attending my follow up tomorrow the 21st. I had to find another ophthalmologist who took my insurance. Please do not charge me $25. I am formally canceling my appointment. Thank you for your assistance in my time of need.

The staff was courteous and caring, great patient service. Inviting atmosphere I enjoyed my visit. I only wish I hadn’t forgotten to discuss the concerns that I wanted to discuss with the Dr.

Having developed painful styes in both eyes, I saw my optometrist, Dr. Brian Jones, at the Lake Mary offices for eye treatment. The staff was so helpful, thorough in their explanation oof what to expect, and so nice. They put me at ease right away and everything went in rapid succession with then being seen by Dr. Jones. The eye review was completed with such care and thoroughness. Dr. Jones put me at ease and talked me through the treatment process and what to expect. What a great experience for dealing with a very painful eye problem. My heartfelt thanks to all the Central Florida Eye staff at DeLand and at Lake Mary fir their professionalism and to Dr. Jones for his professional knowledge, expert treatment, and kindness.
