From the receptionists warm welcome, to the nurses kind and calm presence, to the dr.’s thorough exam and clear explanation this was a dr.s visit for the ages. Children are honored at this clinic as are their families. My profession is Youth and Family Education, this clinic knows who they are serving and they do it with kindness, calm and care.

Love this place! They have been helping our family since our son had urgent surgery at 17mo. old…he’s now 16 :) Dr. Wheeler is the most thorough, invested, kind and even funny doctor & we are so grateful to have him continuing to treat our guy! Keep it up y’all are doing great things!
Hallelujah—we were so thankful Randall Children’s ER referred us to Child Eye Care in Tigard. I took my daughter to the ER for eye pain and vision problems in one eye. The ER doctor gave us a diagnosis that was close, but not correct, and told us that if it didn’t improve in three days, we should contact Child Eye Care. When there was still no improvement even the next day, I trusted my instincts and made an appointment right away. I am so glad I did! We saw Dr. Wheeler, and he was truly heaven-sent. He is kind, calm, incredibly skilled, and has an amazing bedside manner. He quickly figured out that there was a foreign object on the lens of my daughter’s eye and was able to remove it carefully and skillfully, while keeping her comfortable and at ease the entire time. His team is so great to work with as well. It is so worth it finding the right expert, and in this case Dr. Wheeler made all the difference! He identified the problem exactly, treated it with great skill and finesse, and made a painful and stressful situation so much better. I can’t say enough good things about Dr. Wheeler and Child Eye Care. The best!!! If you want, I can also make it a little shorter and more Google-review style.
We recently saw Dr. Bavasi at Child Eye Care Associates for my son’s first visit to an ophthalmologist, and unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing. I chose this clinic after reading reviews and specifically because it presents itself as “child-focused,” but that was not our experience at all. There was nothing about the visit that felt tailored to a child. The doctor did not explain anything to my son about his eyes—no simple descriptions, no visuals, no attempt to help him understand what nearsighted meant or why his eyes might be developing differently. Equally concerning was the lack of rapport. There was no effort to connect with my son or make him feel comfortable, and very little communication with me as a parent. The interaction felt cold and impersonal. At the end of the appointment, we were told he needed glasses and sent down the hall for a fitting. My son was clearly upset and trying to hold back tears. What could have been a positive and reassuring first experience instead left him anxious and discouraged, and we ultimately chose to leave. Based on our experience, I would not recommend this clinic or this doctor—especially for families looking for a supportive, child-friendly environment.
My daughter’s medical journey has been rare, unique, and, frankly, perplexing. We received multiple and often conflicting diagnoses from different sources, and for a long time, no one had clear answers. But today, this review isn’t about what we didn’t know; it’s about what happened once we finally found the right doctor. Dr. Sophia Fang is one of the most diligent, curious, and tenacious physicians I have ever encountered. From start to finish, her commitment to finding answers and ruling out possibilities was extraordinary. Her entire team of medical assistants, front office staff, and support team, all reflected that same level of dedication and professionalism. When it came time to make decisions and take action, Dr. Fang led with confidence and precision, fully trusting her team to execute everything seamlessly. And they delivered. She performed two successful surgeries, and post-op, my daughter’s vision has improved from 20/200 to 20/25, truly life-changing results. Thank you, Dr. Fang, and thank you to Anita, Lauren, and every member of the support staff. Your expertise, compassion, and diligence have made an immeasurable difference for our family. A well-deserved 10/10 experience. **Just wanted to add an edit after reading through some of the other reviews for Child Eye... the front office and support staff have been NOTHING but exceptional and empathetic, every single person I have interacted with. And, I am not always an easy client to deal with... MamaBear shows up and I have no problem being my kid's loudest and most obnoxious advocate. Every office has rules to follow, and this office is incredibly busy/popular, so their ability to *immediately* accommodate you is limited, and they keep rules just like every other business/dr. office.. it's not personal or unempathetic, they are really great group of individuals who act with care for their patients.
