Terrible experience with the optometrist. I came in for a contacts eye exam, and he gave me a glasses exam due to a miscommunication (or lack of) between him and the receptionist. He then tried giving me some contacts intended for people with astigmatism to wear (still not having given me the contacts exam that I came in for). I told him that I wasn't comfortable putting on contacts yet and just wanted to do the exam only to get my prescription. They then told me I had to put on the contacts as part of the exam (which I find hard to believe), but no one was helping me at all. I was even willing to pay for the tutorial (that they charge $25 for, which doesn't make sense if it's mandatory as part of the exam), but they just left me in the chair and told me to basically "figure it out". I did not feel comfortable at all trying to put an object in my eye that I didn't know how to, and the receptionist made a snarky remark along the lines of "I thought you knew how to wear contacts." They had asked me if I've WORN contacts before, which I have (a long time ago) but that doesn't mean I know how to currently put them on. I finally had enough and told them I was uncomfortable and would just do the contacts exam through my own optometrist instead. They then insisted I still had to pay for the glasses exam because he gave it to me, even though I neither asked for or needed it (I already know my glasses prescription and it's valid for another 2 years). I refused, and said I only came in for a contacts exam and that's all I wanted. They argued with me for a bit, and it really felt like when you go to the mall and those people come up to you to clean your shoes without asking to try to guilt trip you into paying afterwards. I was 100% willing to pay for the contacts exam (and the tutorial) but they did not give me either of these services, so I don't know why they expected me to just hand them $80 for something I didn't ask for (due to a mistake on THEIR part). He told me that they wouldn't work with me in the future if I didn't pay for the glasses exam (that I again didn't ask for) and I said that's totally fine and walked out. WOULD NOT recommend coming to this optometrist!! Needs to work on his communication with both his receptionist and the clients (verifying what they came in for, asking if they need any help, etc.) Doing a service that the client never asked for is YOUR responsibility as a professional, not the client's. And if putting on contacts is mandatory as a part of the exam, COMMUNICATE that before hand and walk them through the process (especially if you know it's someone's first time working with you).

I cannot go to sleep without writing a few words of appreciation and exceeding expectations about Mr.Perry (Licensed Optician) and Ms.Lela for recommending Mr.Perry for fixing my specialty glasses. He went way and beyond to do the needful inspite of near closure timings of the store and i will always remain grateful for their services. Since last year i am getting my glassess from Costco since i did not get v good service at Walmart, Tracy. I highly recommend their services, they definitely go way and beyond to make sure you get the right product.
