I love Costco, and the optician doctors were great. But the optical dept is a sh*t show. If you don’t see the way to get in line, they won’t point it out, they’ll just ignore you for 15+ min. They had to remake my lenses three times and never got them right because they never retook the pupilometer measurements they got wrong on my first visit. They didn’t even offer to have them expedited, I had to ask. They also don’t tell you that they can’t use your full insurance benefits.

I visited the Costco Optical Dept this morning to look for eyeglasses with my prescription in hand. It was pretty crowded, so did have a bit of a wait. However, it provided me the chance to find a pair of frames I liked. Tania assisted me and was very friendly and stellar in her help. She was also very knowledgeable and gave me honest feedback on the frames I selected. Because of my particular situation, I ended up with 2 pair. My main pair with transition lens for outdoors and a second pair, which were prescription sunglasses for driving. Both pair were bifocals. My insurance help pay for my main pair and I got the $50 discount on the second pair. Out the door for $230. Sweet deal. It's too bad more customer service people aren't like Tania. Costco has a gem with her. I just hope they appreciate what she brings to the table.

More fun than a poke in the eye! ... Oh, wait. Dr. Clark was very helpful identifying a metal shard fragment in my cornea and attempting in getting it removed.

I only came in for an eye exam but it was quick and easy! The staff were very kind, the eye doc had a great sense of humor and answered all my questions about my imaging and concerns about ordering glasses online. I had no issues getting exam prices stated up front. The glasses selection was not my style but thats ok!

We've bought a lot of glasses here. But the last time around we discovered that the edge polish (an extra $10) is not what it used to be. For those of us with thick lenses, edge polishing used to provide a clear finish on the edges of the lenses with the sharp corners rounded out so they are not so likely to cut you if someone (like a small child) or something bumps your classes into your face. On my last pair however, the "polish" left a cloudy finish and sharp corners. I asked for my $10 back but was told that the only way to do that was to send the glasses back and have the lenses remade without the "polish" feature. So much for a reasonable satisfaction guarantee.
