Dostal Eyecare

I wanted to like this place. My family members go here and say the doctors are great, and the reviews seem to reflect that. Unfortunately quality doctors cannot make up for their mismanagement of time and lack of attention to detail. First visit, I had to wait 30-40 minutes for my appointment. I arrived before my appointment start time, checked in, and then sat without any updates. I made it through the appointment, and was then sat down with the glasses tech who was clearly annoyed that I was there and had zero interest in helping me. Everyone has bad days, but between the long wait and grouchy staff, I left with a sour taste in my mouth. I decided to give them a second chance, perhaps it was just a one off. Second appointment, I have it on my calendar for June 3rd. I received an automated text a couple of weeks before the appointment with the date listed as June 2nd. I changed the date in my calendar and showed up on June 2nd before my appointment start time, only to be told that it’s in their system for June 3rd. How is the AUTOMATED system messing up dates? Does Dostal have any respect for people’s time? How do you expect to operate a business where appointments need to be made months in advance, when you can’t even keep track of them? Caring for patients goes beyond having good doctors. It starts with respecting their time and logistics / time management.

This was my first visit to this eye care facility, and it was entirely positive. I transferred my care from a Northampton optometrist to Dostal in Easthampton. All of the staff, including Dr Brown, Alexandria (who fitted my new glasses), and Hannah (who served my surprisingly reasonable bill to me) were a very pleasing mix of professional and personal. This is a superb practice.

Dr. Budri is the best eye doctor I have ever had! She is so friendly and knowledgeable! She went out of her way to help me and answer all of my questions. Highly recommend!!

I felt, and believe, that the care was good, maybe excellent, it's hard to know. I liked Dr Kani Brown, and would return to him next time. the total time spent there was longer than I expected (or remember from previous visits). 2 hours, more or less. Not sure why... The office is considerably larger than last time, and busier, and I was moved around from room to room (to do different tests)... Sometimes with a waiting period between rooms. Overall I WAS PLEASED. When I receive my new glasses in a few weeks I expect I'll be happy with them.

Office is state of the art, clean and everyone is very friendly. Dr.Brown is excellent, clearly passionate about what he does, very thorough and listens well to concerns. Explains the condition and underlining cause. As a dry eye specialist he is intersted in finding the root of the problem and devising a treatment plan to help eleviate the problem. Highly recommend.
