Dr. John S. Yu and Associates

I have been a patient of Dr. Yu for several years, and so have my husband and children. While the staff members I've encountered have consistently been professional, respectful, and helpful, my visit today left me very disappointed. During my appointment, I overheard Dr. Yu speaking to a young staff member about an insurance issue. The way he addressed her was shocking and unprofessional. He told the employee to call the insurance company and "make it happen" in a rude and demanding tone that could easily be heard by anyone in the building. Even the staff member assisting me appeared visibly surprised by the interaction. This is emotional distress ! After witnessing this, I began to understand why there always seem to be new employees in the office. Over the years, I've noticed frequent staff turnover, and this experience raised concerns about how employees are treated behind the scenes. The staff deserves recognition for remaining courteous and professional despite these situations. Unfortunately, the way Dr. Yu treated his employee and handles interactions reflects poorly on the practice. Respect and professionalism should apply not only to patients but also to the staff who help keep the office running. The staff there deserve a doctor who treats them with respect. Based on my experience, I can no longer recommend this office. I will also be speaking to HR.

I was very dissatisfied with my experience with Dr. Yu. After I explained that I was unhappy with my current contact lenses, he switched me to a different brand. However, shortly after leaving the office, I noticed that my vision was significantly worse—street signs were blurry, and I had difficulty seeing my phone. I returned two days later to report the issue, but my concerns were not meaningfully addressed. Dr. Yu spent a few minutes at his computer and then stated that the lenses should work and that he was unsure what the problem was. He provided another pair of the exact same lenses, suggesting the trial pair might have been old. When I explained that I still could not see properly, he advised me to hold my phone farther away, suggested I might be better off wearing glasses, and ended the appointment without further evaluation. At no point did he examine how the lenses were fitting on my eyes. He just shook my hand, said "best of luck to you ma'am" and walked out of the office. I later sought a second opinion at another practice, where they immediately assessed the fit of the lenses and determined that they were improper, which explained the vision issues I was experiencing.

Dr. Yu is the man, love catching up with him. Very professional and thorough. His staff is great too! Def recommend.

Dr. Yu is a cool guy, he makes sure his patient is comfortable and answers all questions extensively. He is genuinely interested in his patients and his bedside manner is great. Never a bad experience with Dr. Yu!

I love Dr Yu, but my personal opinion his front office staff needs more T.LC. I liked his office better when it was o. Peachtree Corners, This location is ok just really busy, and his staff is a little dry. I need to change offices.
