Dr. Ted Brink & Associates – Roosevelt/Ortega

I went in for a routine eye exam to get glasses for night driving and made that very clear to the doctor. During the appointment, she asked if I wanted to try contact lenses since I had worn them prior to having LASIK. I agreed, and she proceeded to fit me with a pair. When she asked how they felt, I told her I was unsure. She then said that if I didn’t want them, I would need to return the pair. Since I wasn’t certain, I asked her to check what the cost would be. She left the room, spoke with the front desk, and came back stating that the contacts were covered by my insurance. Based on that information, I agreed and left with them. About 30 days later, I received a bill. I attempted to dispute it due to the incorrect information I was given at the time of my visit. Now, three months later, I’ve received a notice from a collection agency with an additional 23% added. This situation could have been avoided if my insurance had been properly verified before giving me that information. I would strongly advise others to double-check coverage themselves before agreeing to any additional services here, as it does not appear that the staff is doing so accurately. I am very frustrated with the entire situation and will never return to this eye doctor or a Ted Brinks again. Lost my business for sure!! Update: I contacted my vision insurance today, 4/6/26, and was told that a claim for a contact fitting was never filed and my insurance does cover a percentage of this claim. I called Ted Brinks on Roosevelt today and they were unsure if they could resend the claim in again. I am unsure if the claim was ever submitted. Regardless, I still believe the staff at this facility is incompetent.

First time visiting this location. Erica was very helpful and knowledgeable of the inventory and payment process. From start to finish, the visit was geared towards my eye-health needs.

UPDATE 7/2/25: I was just contacted by phone. They were profusely apologetic, did not attempt to make up an excuse, and treated me with the same affability I'd experienced in person. They got me set up with an appointment to try the brand I want to switch to, and they made sure to work with the day and time was most convenient for me. I updated my star review to account for all things considered. ORIGINAL REVIEW 7/1/25: I wish I could give 5 stars because the *in person* customer experience is outstanding. Absolutely outstanding in person- the staff is very friendly and helpful, the doctors are great. If you have to call them for any reason, though. . . good luck. I was told that I did not need to come in person to make any changes to my contact lens prescription. I was explicitly told to call in for that kind of thing. I need to make changes. When I tried to order contacts, I was informed that my prescription is missing some vital information, so they can't put my order through. I also decided I wanted to switch brands. I've called multiple times during their stated business hours- different days, different times. I've left multiple messages clearly stating my name, my callback number, and my needs. Each message, I've requested a callback. Nothing. They clearly do not return their clients' phone calls. Despite their voicemail message indicating otherwise. They will just let you sit and never reach back out to you. Extremely dissatisfied!

It was great! I didn't wait long, the tests were painless. The doctor was top notch and made sure I had the best sight possible dialed in. The person who helped me with glasses was friendly and patient while I tried to make a decision and weighed a couple of different options. When I came back to get my glasses a few days later, the people I encountered then were also lovely and helpful.

Beyond excellent! From the minute I walked in the staff was super attentive, and took me right back. They were professional, as well as personable and I was super comfortable there. Sometimes I have a little anxiety about new situations; however, I did not feel anything but peace in this environment. I loved my new doctor. She is super thorough and even let me test to see if one prescription may work better than another. When I left there, I called my daughter to let her know how happy I was to have found this business. I am super excited because it’s minutes from work, as well. Everything was completed within 30 minutes and everyone knows how valuable time is these days so I feel like I got the best care with the best use of time. Super efficient, proficient, and professional employees, to boot. Thank you!😊
