I am an eye Dr.s worst nightmare. I have so many different things going on with my eyes, exams are extremely difficult not only for me but for the Dr. As well. I met Dr.Kness through a family contact, and gave her a heads up I was complicated. Our first appt while challenging did result in a follow up to get it right. Dr Kness was patient, thorough, and truly took the time to get my perscription correct. The first two visits were 3 years ago. I saw Dr. Kness, last week for a new exam and got a new prescription. My glasses came in this week and my sight now is the best its ever been. Im very pleased with my choice of Eyewear, but more so in Dr.Kness. this last appt was so much easier than another previous appt I've ever had. Kudos! So glad we were introduced!!!

I visited EVEA for the first time today and i am extremely satisfied. Everything was very well organized and the team made a very professional impression. All the staff and assistants were very friendly and the exams they performed went smoothly. My exam with Dr. Leah Ramos was excellent and met my expectations completely. She explained everything in detail and answered all my questions. I can recommend EVEA 100% and will have my annual checkup there in the future.

I don’t usually write negative reviews online, but I am extremely frustrated with Eastern Virginia Eye Associates and its lack of communication. I had a routine eye appointment as well as an appointment for contact lenses. They dilated my eyes before putting in my new contacts (never happened before in my 20 years of wearing contacts). I had to make an another appointment because I wasn’t able to see properly with the contacts after being dilated. I went to that appointment. The contact lenses fit, I could see fine, they said they would order me another set of contacts. Meanwhile, I’m postpartum with a six month old and a 3 year old and forgot about my contacts until today. I call and they tell me my contacts have been sitting there SIX MONTHS and I have to make a THIRD appointment to be able to take them home. How come I was not informed of their arrival sooner and that I would need yet another appointment? I also should not have been the one to call them to check on the status of my contacts. Extremely frustrating to have to go through all of this just to order and pick up a new set of contacts. I’m also not a new customer and this is not my first time wearing contacts. I highly recommend avoiding this place if you wear contacts.

I’m very frustrated with this practice. They outsource their phone calls and I was scheduled for the wrong eye exam. I told them I was on a medication that needed to be monitored yearly. They had seen me a year earlier so I was in the system already but they acted like I was brand new. So I had to pay a co-pay the first visit and then had to pay again when I had to return for the correct testing. They repeated a test I had the week before and expected me to pay the $39 again. Nope. I’m sure they will put it through my insurance. I don’t get my eyes dilated because the time I did I had a panic attack. The doctor said “there is nothing to panic about.” Must be nice to not experience anxiety or have panic disorder. Then said he would but putting in the office notes to my rheumatologist that I declined dilation. I asked why he needed to include that and he said “Dr D would want you to have your eyes dilated.” My first visit in 2025 was great, no issues. The two appointments in the last two weeks were stressful and frustrating. The techs were great, no issues there.
