El Monte Optometry

Was a new client but never coming back. I have always had EyeMed insurance and was well aware of my stigmatism on my eyes when it came to contacts. I was quoted $80 for my contact fitting and copay. However once I saw Dr. McDonel my fee was $250??? I have never had a copay along with contact fitting be over $100 with my insurance. They gave me another brand of contacts to try and felt very dry from the moment it came out of the package. When I expressed this they tried to extend my trial period before they can finalize everything and I had to act a like a Karen sadly to just get my prescription approved. They kept trying to give me "reasons" onto why they need to extend my trial period and it wasn't until I spoke with the doctor herself and told her I was very unsatisfied and just wanted to go back to my old contact brand I have used since 2016. I had no issue with new prescription as eyes change every year. I had an issue with the brand of contacts I was given and not being told my REAL invoice price until after my diagnostic were done. I advise asking for an estimate of what everything will truly cost before your glasses and contact fitting is done because you will be left with a bill way over what was originally told. Really feel like they jusy wanted money here. Highly recommend Target optical instead. I learned my lesson and will stay with my original doctor office.

Always the best experience when going to see Dr. Wong. Recommending the perfect glasses as well as noticing some materials caused an allergic reaction. Quick and easy exams and great communication. Would recommend to anyone in search of a good optometrist.

The eye doctor are one of the best in town of el monte. There open your door with open hands. If you have a emergency with your Glasses on the same day. The doctor are fast on with the point. And help you find a great Pair of glasses. My daughter had a emergency and we price a great price for a Temporary Contact so my daughter can play her sport. I want to thank you doctor for help us out when we need the help. So my daughter can play basketball season. So if you need a good eye doctor please come and see them because they the best in el monte.

I had such a great experience at this optometry office. From the moment we walked in, the staff was welcoming, kind, and very patient. Everything felt well-organized but not rushed, which I really appreciated. The office is clean, comfortable, and calm, and they made the whole visit easy and stress-free. You can tell they truly care about their patients. Dr. Wong is absolutely wonderful. Her calm and kind approach ❤️ It’s rare to find a doctor who is both highly knowledgeable and genuinely compassionate. My daughter and me felt we were in very good hands and are so thankful for their care. I’m very grateful we found this place and will definitely be coming back.

Dr. Wong and her staff are top notch. Every aspect of my family's visits are professional and courteous. From checking in, testing, exams, even all the way through picking frames (Dr. Wong has great style!) everything goes smoothly and quickly. El Monte Optometry was referred to me when I was single, I brought my wife there, now all three of our kids are patients there. Highly recommended.
