Eye Center of St. Augustine

My appointment was on time and move from step to step at a steady pace. All the doctors personnel were polite and friendly. Everything was explained to me in layman’s language which I was thankful for. There was not one question the staff could not answer. Very well trained.

I rarely leave negative reviews, but my experience at this office was unacceptable. I’ve seen the same doctor at the WGV office before, and the staff there was always friendly, respectful, and professional. Unfortunately, this location was the complete opposite. A simple administrative issue turned into more than a 40-minute delay because the front desk staff refused to verify the information with my insurance company, even after I asked multiple times. Instead of trying to help resolve the issue, I felt dismissed, disrespected, and treated as though I was the problem. What disappointed me the most was the lack of empathy and professionalism from both the front desk staff and the manager. No patient should have to spend that much time arguing over an issue that could have been resolved with a quick phone call. The entire interaction left me feeling frustrated, embarrassed, and unwelcome. The doctor is excellent, which is why I returned. Unfortunately, the front office experience overshadowed the visit. I sincerely hope this office provides better training in customer service and learns to treat every patient with respect and dignity.

The fact that I am wasting my time and energy to write this review is as irritating as my eye and neither issue has been resolved. First, the main staff line is very courteous and helpful despite my experience in office. Dr. Epps was dismissive and not very helpful and seemed irritated when asked questions about my eyes and the reason for my visit. That being said, called the next day to follow up because I realized I never received an answer or paperwork regarding what I should do about my eye problem and was told either a nurse or the doctor himself would call back...nothing. Called again the next day and was told they weren't sure why I didn't receive a call back but would again request an urgent reply...nothing. My eye is obviously not better and I will be going somewhere else and will never return or recommend their services to anyone...No need for a reply from your office, this matter is closed as far as I am concerned!

The staff is very friendly, professional and knowledgeable. Dr Tamaro is amazing. All these years having difficulty seeing clearly, AFTER getting new glasses from my optometrist, and Dr Tamaro said I have cataracts. Funny, but I was so happy to find out. Dr Tamaro told me my eyesight will be better than ever before after surgery. Thank you.

They didn't make me wait on the phone and were very friendly. They added me as a new patient and I am thankful for them. Not only were they polite they are close by and can help me with my eyes. I highly recommend them and am grateful to be a patient and neighbor thanks for answering all my questions. Dr Tammaro was so nice and didn't rush me and answered all my questions. Thanks for all you do really appreciate it.
