Have been going to this office for over a year for wet AMD. My insurance, UHC HMO, does not pay for the medication that could be injected into my eye to reduce the swelling and bleeding which causes a gray spot in my field of vision. This medication costs upwards of $300. My medical coverage does not even cover the lesser cost medication or the office visits. Every 6 weeks I go in, pay $30 for the office visit, go through the rigmarole of testing and internal photographing of my eye, get an injection in my left eye, pay another $15 for the medication that was injected and we leave, only to repeat the same procedure over again 6 weeks later. I have never seen Dr Malikani, but am treated by a doctor named Mariya. I keep getting treated the same way each time; but on three separate visits, I've been told three different reasons why I'm going there for the injections. Wish they'd get their stories straight. I'm going to make an appointment with my ophthalmologist to see if I can be sent to someone who will be covered by my UHC HMO, and someone who can give me the straight story on the reasons for the injections in my eye every 6 weeks. I'm 82 years old and I'm getting a little bit tired of the runaround.

Very personable doctor- easy to talk to and willing to answer questions Nice staff although it can get really backed up with those that are doing the dye injection before you see the doctor.

You really need a different receptionist, I called this morning (12/2) and she was extremely rude not even kind of helpful, she was dismissive the entire time, didn’t even look up my insurance to see if they took it, just said no sorry we can’t help you, with zero attempt to actually help me. She definitely needs correcting because she could have done this to many other potential patients. UPDATE: The office called me back cause I left a message previously over the weekend and a different women helped me and was so kind and actually took my information (unlike her coworker) and got me all set up! Funny enough, they did take my insurance.

Went to him for a vitreous bleed, he never addresses the bled but said h had to get the blood out of my eye. Never repaired the bleed and in doing this my retina detached. My eye is Damaged beyond hope. He’s a hack. Worst thing I ever did was step into his office.

Doctors there are okay and have no for the as far as the testing goes. Too bad I can't say that for the rest of the staff. I requested a 90 day refill as this is what my insurance pays for. I waited 9 days, no refills. I called back and spoke to the office manager and she apologized and then took care of it and said it was taken care of. I picked up my prescription and instead of getting a 90 day supply, I got a 30 day supply. I am 84 yrs old and a caregiver for my wife who had a massive stroke 2 yrs ago. Recently she was diagnosed of cancer and had surgery. My point in this is I don't have time to continue to follow up on people's incompetence. I will more than likely change doctors but have to wait until 6 months because this is when my next appointment is due..David S.
