Paid my insurance deductible when I went in for a visit, doctor's and staff were very helpful. Months later got a bill for the insurance deductable from their billing service somewhere in the other side of the country, thought to myself I paid that when I went in. I checked records and verified payment of the proper deductible at the office visit, showed it to them at the local office and they insisted I still owed it, something about that is how their new billing service works (? Charging the deductible twice I guess). Was some time ago, but enough of a negative that will never go back.

Have you ever walked into a business you trusted and felt completely dismissed within the first few minutes? That is what happened to me at this practice today (June 24, 2026), where I have been a patient for years. I went in to ask that my eyeglass prescription be rechecked. A manager, who was a woman, came to assist me. While I was calmly explaining what I had experienced and showing her my 2025 and 2026 prescriptions, she raised her voice, threw her hands in the air, and said something to the effect of "I need to step away from all this for a bit," then walked off while I was still speaking. I was not raising my voice. I felt so dismissed and disrespected as a longtime patient. I invite the practice to review the security footage from this afternoon, which will show this incident exactly. Here is how I got to that point: It began in May 2026 with a contact lens prescription that was not working for me. I emailed to explain the problem and received no response. I ended up having to buy lenses based on my 2025 prescription to get by. More recently, in June 2026, I had my eyeglass prescription updated. When the new lenses came, I could not wear them. They caused immediate blurriness and dizziness to the point that I could not even walk a few steps in them. The optical lab that made the lenses verified twice that the lenses were manufactured and fitted correctly to the 2026 prescription I was given at this Eye Care location. That is what brought me in today to ask for a recheck. After the manager walked away, she later came back and told me, from a distance, that the optometrist was too busy and could see me later this evening or another day. I asked for the recheck to be done the same day, as I would be traveling soon. She returned, again from a distance, to say he might be able to see me in 20, 30, or 40 minutes. I sat and waited for 20 minutes, then left. I later received a text, not a call, offering an appointment at 4:00. The text arrived at 3:35, about 25 minutes' notice. The sensible thing for a business to do would have been a quick phone call to say they could see me at 4:00. Instead, I got a short-notice text and was left to either catch it in time or miss the appointment. From start to finish, that is the lack of care I experienced. I returned at 4 pm for the appointment. The optometrist first suggested the optical lab had likely made an error. After I explained the lab had already verified everything twice, he examined me and adjusted my prescription, moving it back closer to where it had been in 2025. I received no acknowledgment or apology that anything had gone wrong at any point in the process. I just ordered the corrected prescription and hope it works as it should. I'm sharing this so other patients know what to expect when they choose to come to this practice. At no point did anyone take responsibility for anything, not for the prescription that had to be corrected, and not for how I was treated. After years as a loyal patient, I no longer trust the care or the respect I receive at this Eye Care location, and I will probably be taking my eye care elsewhere.

Dr. Brightman is amazing! I’ve seen many eye doctors before, but she is the only one who clearly explained the cause of my vision problems. This is the first time I’ve received glasses that actually work for me.

Dr. Stille is awesome! Very thorough. I had to make a last minute appointment due to my normal eye doctor not being open. I was having some blurry vision due to some new medication and was advised to be seen by an eye doctor to make sure the health of my eyes were okay. The scheduling team was awesome and went above and beyond to see if someone could see me today and was able to get me in. Dr. Stille saw me and was very thorough and addressed my concerns. I am very very happy with my visit and would honestly love to come back. My husband is looking for a new eye doctor and have recommended Dr. Stille. Thank you so much!
