My eye exam was rushed. The dr didn’t answer any of my questions. Said he doesn’t know because he doesn’t have my eye records. Soooo… you can’t check my eyes for astigmatism or give your educated opinion? He wasn’t helpful or supportive at all. The First Lady who did the eye pressure part said to relax. I was relaxed not moving or tense but she kept hitting my eye with the tool which made my eyes blink and water. Very unprofessional. Will definitely be finding another eye dr.

I did have a good experience with Dr Atkins but I scheduled my yearly eye exam back in March (it’s now July) and they gave me a date in September. I called last week to confirm the date in September and they told me they cancelled that appointment a few weeks ago but couldn’t give a reason why. So I asked to be rescheduled and they said Atkins is no longer there so they do not accept Medicaid anymore. I’m assuming that’s why my appointment was cancelled but after waiting MONTHS to even get seen, they could’ve gave me a courtesy call. Nevertheless, my prescription, glasses and contacts cost over $1k without insurance so I will not be going back, at least until or if they decide to accept Medicaid again.

My doctor recommended I get my eyes checked because it’s been years. I wasn’t ever able to find a doctor I liked then I found The Eye Care Center and Dr. Yoakum. The business had good reviews and I was just lucky to get Dr. Yoakum. He has a great personality and made the visit a pleasure. Thanks again!

Was looking for a new eye dr close to work however I was truly disappointed with my visit here. Staff was very friendly and helpful. However the Dr not so much. I was made to feel dumb and treated like I was a child. Even when there was no way he could not tell I was very confused he continued to act like it was my fault that I didn’t understand. I have never had my vision checked where I was told to sit in from of a computer with my glasses on and asked does this look better. It has always been with the machine and asked to read to little card when the machine was adjusted . That did not happen. Was my new glasses correct , yes they are fine. But the whole point was after 2 years on missing my eye exams and being a daily glasses wearer I was not made to feel comfortable or confident in a new doctor. When I tried to ask questions I felt very dismissed. Needless to say I will not return to this location. Will I give the company another chance sure , but not this Dr.

Not too good! Third time seeing Dr Yokam. First 2 times were great. This time he was very brash and rude giving us some not so good news. Didn’t really tell us anything about the test and eye pressures. Said he would send a referral for a specialist, but has not yet. We are very anxious and concerned. Left 3 messages for someone to call us to discuss options and get the referral and no one has called us back,
