I went to eyeglass world at 2109 66th st N. On 12/26/25 because they advertised same day glasses and I really need to be able to see details at my new job. I paid for the $80 eye exam, which did not say that I need progressive lenses. After picking out frames the employee insisted I need progressives and they would cost a minimum of $200 more. I was tired of arguing with him, so I went to another location on 4th St a few days later. I picked out frames and picked up the glasses next day. It was very hard to see out of them, but I figured I needed to get used to them. After several weeks it became apparent something was wrong with the prescription and there was no way I would be able to use these glasses. I returned to the store and told them the problem. They told me I was 1 day past the return policy so I'm basically out of luck unless I wanted to spend another $200 for new lenses put in my frames. I explained that I could get glasses online with the same prescription that I can see out of for half the price. They refused to refund my money for the unworn glasses, now I am out $160 for the exam and glasses that I can't use and I am still waiting dollar store readers. I should have gone to America's Best and waited the 2 weeks to get the right glasses. Thanks for wasting my money!

Everyone here was very nice and helpful! Deanna and Jerry greeted me as soon as I walked through the door and were very kind when I picked up my new glasses. When I initially went in for a new prescription Ellie was very helpful, kind and pleasant to talk to. The doctor was super nice and quick the entire time I was getting checked out. When I was purchasing the frames Jerry helped me and made my experience. He was helpful with picking out everything I needed and very pleasant to talk to and an asset to the team!
I'm overall very happy with Eyeglass World on 4th Street N in St. Petersburg, FL (especially Elissa--shout out to you, and I hope I spelled your name right), and I will definitely be a returning customer anytime I need new glasses--though I will continue to go to my ophthalmologist for the actual exams and Rx's--but to purchase the glasses, Eyeglass World has MUCH, much, much better prices than the optical shop affiliated with my ophthalmologist's practice! I just bought two pairs of progressive glasses (one main pair, and one pair of sunglasses), including the frames and the lenses. There are quite a few reasons I am happy with Eyeglass World and will remain a customer. One: I appreciate their consistently warm, friendly, patient and helpful customer service. I say "consistently" because, though I just actually bought my glasses and picked them up in March, I've had the Rx from my ophthalmologist since way back in August, and I have called Eyeglass World several times during that time with questions about their pricing, insurance, etc., since back then, before ever setting foot in the actual store, and every time I called, I got the nicest, most patient customer service over the phone by their staff. Then, when I finally went in to buy the glasses, the person who helped me that day took a LOT of time with me, explaining what the cost would be if I used my insurance, what the cost would be if I didn't use insurance (because, if you don't use insurance, it is buy one, get one free, but if you do use insurance, it is different), why do you recommend the blue light protection, what does the 1-year protection plan cover, and more. I really appreciate how much time she took with me! Then, when I went to pick up the two pairs of glasses, the main pair seemed quite blurry, so the person (a different person, who is actually an optician, unlike the first person who was there the day I purchased the glasses and picked out the frames) offered to check the pupillary distance for me, but I initially opted to take them home as they were and try them out. However, I immediately realized no, something is seriously off about this pair, so I went back and she did check the pupillary distance, which refers to the centering of your prescription correctly on the lens, and sure enough, it was wrong. The optician (Elissa--who is so kind, knowledgeable and great to interact with) immediately said she was going to send back the lenses and have new ones made, with the correct centering. The original person who put the mark on the lenses when I bought them had made an error in the placement. But I don't judge a business by a mistake, as we all make mistakes: I judge a business by *how they respond* to a mistake, and I was very impressed with how the optician (not the same person who made the initial error) responded by offering to check, doing so, realizing the Rx was not centered correctly on the lenses, and immediately saying she would send them back and have them redone, which she did. And now I have my new glasses, and I'm so appreciative of the warm, professional, patient and kind way I was treated as a customer through the whole process. The other things, besides the very good customer service, that I appreciate about Eyeglass World are that their prices, like I said, are MUCH better than the little optical shop I always used to go to, I mean better by hundreds and hundreds of dollars, and they have a very big selection of frames. I absolutely LOVE the frames I chose for my main pair of glasses--they are my favorite frames I've ever had for glasses! The sunglass frames are also fabulous. Finally, the location of this Eyeglass World store on 4th St N is excellent for me, so it is easy to go back for adjustments to the frames, etc. I appreciate Eyeglass World!
I've always been very happy here. Nice people, good exams, great glass, wear selection and contacts.. If you break it, they can fix it. They're very good at their job..
I had a great experience..I am so grateful that I picked this spot. I ended up getting an eye exam & protective reading glasses to wear while using my computer. I was also told of some natural drops I could use for dry eye. Knowledgeable & a great atmosphere. I was helped by the woman there personable & knew what she was doing. No pressure
