I had an appointment with Dr. Anthony Tom at the Flatiron District office and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience. During the visit, I felt that my concerns were dismissed rather than carefully considered. I often felt talked over and did not feel I was given the opportunity to fully explain my symptoms and questions. I left the appointment feeling frustrated and unsupported. In my view, healthcare visits should be collaborative, respectful, and focused on making patients feel heard and understood. That was not my experience during this visit. Because healthcare decisions are important and can significantly affect people's lives, I believe patients should feel comfortable speaking openly with their physician and receiving thoughtful attention to their concerns. Based on my experience, I would not return and cannot recommend this provider.

The 3 stars are mostly for my PCP here whom has been great since I began seeing her a few years ago. And also 1-2 front desk folks who have been pleasant. However today, my experience was different. I walked in for an appointment and there was a Black woman with short hair at the desk on the left having a full conversation with another staff member. She sees me and does not acknowledge me, check me in or even say please wait for someone to call you. Just continues to talk while I’m waiting. Then another person walks in behind me, and she calls the lady up to her desk and proceeds to check her in. It was embarrassing and extremely frustrating. I’m a young black woman and the other woman who walked in after me was an old white woman. I really hope that’s not why she chose to ignore me and then call up someone who walked in after me. But I’m just shocked overall at this level of service.
This center is clean and pleasant. I am confused by some comments about this center. The staff is polite and respectful. My doctor is understanding, caring, and attentive to my needs. This location is also convenient for transportation and stores. Thank you to all staff for your welcoming smiles.
So I was on my way to my appointment today at 8:30AM and they just sent me a text saying my appointment is cancelled at 7:40AM. Not even a call or apology just a text. Crazy that they cancel so late, don’t offer an alternative and they don’t offer virtual options. It’s not the first time this happens so this time I decided to review. I had already spent money on tolls and reserving parking. If they’re going to cancel so late they should at least had schedule the appointment with a different provider for the same date and time or offer a virtual option so I don’t waste my time and money like it’s been often happening lately.
I would love to say thank you so much to nurse Anna from the flat iron location advantage care. While I had so much pain I experienced after my surgery she would always call in and check up on me. If she was busy she would sent me a message on the app. I truly do appreciate how much she has been there for me. She made sure all I had my refills and always made sure I was in the loop of everything I had going on. You truly are a blessing and I’m so glad that I had you as a nurse. If you have any questions she’s a really good listener she definitely make sure everything gets done. I wish more nurses would be more like you. Thank you so much.
