Granite Pointe Eye Care

Just starting a new job, waiting for medical to kick in. I managed to get a piece of metal in my eye. I have gone to urgent care centers before to avoid the high cost of an emergency room visit. They could only evaluate for $160 and not provide any treatment. I knew I needed an ophthalmologist and took a chance without calling and just showed up at Granite Point Eye Care. The office staff was very helpful and friendly. They said they would try and get me seen as soon as possible. I was prepared to wait a couple of hours. They offered my wife and son water and snacks while we waited. After about 15 min I was called back, The doctor who treated me was Christa McGhee. So professional, with the most amazingly skilled touch she had it removed in an instant. When going to pay, I was told $85. Dr. McGhee and her staff are incredible. They will have my business and I will be telling all my friends and family about this wonderful eye care center. Thank you

The doctor was great! Staff was fine too. Beware that they charge for the retinal exam and they do not tell you. When I checked out the girl at the front says it’s in the consent form I signed - which I could not read all of it cause other people are waiting and I had to sign my daughter’s consent form as well. My son went too and so I ended up paying over $115.00 for the 3 of us to get that done. Pretty shady not to say anything - the staff acted like it was part of the exam but it wasn’t.

This review is for MAGGI! Hands down, one of the kindest, most professional, and dedicated person I’ve ever worked with. She listens, cares, and is truly empathetic. She understood that my prescription was unique, guided me in choosing the perfect frames, and encouraged me to get transition lenses. Oh my goodness what a difference they made! One of the best decisions I’ve made. Thank you, Maggi, for your expertise, patience, and genuine care. Your help made the entire experience easy and enjoyable!!

They were friendly, helpful and thorough. Each staff member showed they truly care about their patients by being patient and kind throughout the process from greeting me when I walked in the door with smiles and kindness all the way to the end when I picked out glasses and left. The front desk staff even made sure they said “good-bye” as I left even though they were extremely busy. I liked my experience so much I may go back to them once a year for my eye exam even though I moved a couple of hours away.

Torn on how I wanted to rate my experience because while I genuinely had a great experience with Dr. McGhee, I was fairly upset with how the staff spoke about me in the hall, outside the room, while I was waiting for the Dr. They must not be aware that the patients can hear them loud and clear because there was no attempt at being discreet. They spoke of their frustrations with myself and patients in general. I wish I could go back because I liked the doctor and the ladies working the front desk were kind but unfortunately the overheard conversation left me with a really bad impression.
