I have been a patient of Dr Patel for over 10 years and I wanted to share my experience with Dr Patel. It is a little lengthy due to multiple surgeries and eye issues, but necessary to show his level of dedication to his patients. I came to him after another "specialist" told me that I had a PVD and that he did not see any signs of detachment and I had nothing to worry about, even though I had a crescent moon shape blind spot in the bottom corner of my eye. 4 days later I am blind in my right eye trying to find a specialist at 530 on a Thursday night. Keeping in mind that I was not a patient at this time, Dr Patel still returned his emergency line, and told me to be in his office first thing Friday morning. He saw me first thing, had a solid exam, explained everything he found in detail and probable results, and scheduled me for emergency surgery that afternoon. What he found was I had ended up with a total detachment, a giant tear, and my retina had actually folded onto itself. 10 years later, I have restored vision of 20/80 in that eye, when everyone thought I could be legally blind due to the severity of the detachment. 4 years later, I had a large PVD in my left eye. Dr Patel stayed and kept his staff after hours until I got back from North Carolina to do an exam and reassure me it was just a PVD. A year after this I had another large PVD. He again got me in to see him right away. This time there were numerous tears and a partial detachment. We caught it early enough that I still have full vision in my left eye. In the end, Dr Patel has always listened to my concerns, and addressed them professionally and direct. I trust no one else with my retina health and would recommend him hands down (and have snd do) to anyone with retina issues.

I’ve been seeing Dr. Patel for over 10 years due to diabetic retinopathy. I don’t trust anyone else with eyes except him! He listens to concerns and thoroughly checks everything. I highly recommend his services

I was referred to Dr. Patel by my Optician and by my arthritic Dr. due to the medication that I have been on for over 10 years that has an affect on the Retina's. I also have diabetes and Dr. Patel ensures with each visit to check for any possible problems. He listens to my concerns and provides valuable feedback. I have recommended Dr. Patel to several co-workers, my sister, and other family members.

I was referred to Dr Patel for macular pucker care.I had my surgery February 2023… from the immediate post surgery I knew something was wrong. I had a steroid response to the drops, a severe reaction. I asked the doctor and his staff repeatedly to check my eye for signs of glaucoma, being told multiple times I was healing well and fine.. I was told if the doctor thought I had glaucoma he would send me to a specialist for it… I took it upon myself to seek out a specialist myself. Sure enough I have glaucoma! I learned that my eye pressure was elevated a year before my surgery, ( it was taken on every pre op appointment, and I was never told about the risks with a elevated eye pressure… or was it addressed. Dr Patel didn’t listen to my concerns and rushes through examinations, he showed no concern for my pre op elevated eye pressures. I would recommend a more thorough RS who isn’t in a hurry and is more focused on details and his patients concerns.
