The guy at the front who always wears the yellow and black zebra-esque striped sweater is a real jerk. He has a chip on his shoulder and has been disrespectful to me on each occasion that I’ve been to this office. On one occasion, I thought I was being called forward so I stepped up to check in. He proceeded to mumble under his breath about needing to wait to be called up , huffing and puffing. I chose to ignore this and take the high road. Today when I went in, he thought he was being cute or something by not even calling me up. He waited until I looked over with a bored and insulting look on his face- like DUH- it’s your turn…Well guess what- you can’t have it both ways!! Definitely needs some retraining or to go and work somewhere else. Should not be in a customer facing environment. Kindness is free and you should know better. If it wasn’t for Dr. CF and Jenna, I would take myself and my family elsewhere!

It was an okay visit overall, but I can’t imagine returning unless I have to. Dr. Shannon Farr indicated at the start that we didn’t have time to both renew my prescription and address specific concerns I had. That was fine, I get it. I came primarily for a new prescription, so I proceeded with that. She made a slight adjustment to my prescription, and I asked for help understanding what had changed. She declined to explain, saying it was a very minor difference that I would hardly notice. However, as someone who wears glasses, I think it’s reasonable, especially after experiencing a past prescription error, to want to understand changes to sphere, cylinder, and axis values. I asked multiple times (at least three times!), and each time she explicitly refused to explain. That was frustrating. Finally, I gave up and instead used chatgpt, which explained the changes to me very clearly... Additionally, I have meibomian gland dysfunction. At the end of the appointment, I asked how that was looking, and she told me she hadn’t really checked. That was surprising, given a component of the eye exam was examining my general eye health. For the care I received, or rather lack there of, it would have been easier and cheaper to just do a virtual test for $15 on visibly or lens.com. I would have received just as much care, and would have saved time and money.
Absolutely abysmal wait times and NO time management skills, at ALL. You wait over an hour for a 45 minute appointment that ends up taking THREE. HOURS. to finish. The doctors themselves seem to be great but the wait times are atrocious. Went with my friend for her appointment and we literally waited 1 hour and 13 minutes to even be seen, and another 15 minutes for the doctor to enter the room. Ridiculous, and highly unprofessional. They bring you from waiting room to a second waiting room and then just forget about you. If you do have an appointment here, clear your entire day for it. Ridiculous and unprofessional.
I can’t say enough amazing things about Dr. K at Harbor View Eye Care! From the moment I walked in, I felt completely welcomed and genuinely cared for. Dr. K has that rare combination of incredible expertise and a warm, friendly personality that immediately puts you at ease. He takes the time to listen, explain everything clearly, and make sure you understand your options without ever feeling rushed. The exam was thorough and modern, and I left feeling confident that my eye health was in the best hands possible. Dr. K caught details other providers have overlooked in the past and customized his recommendations to fit my lifestyle perfectly. It’s clear he truly cares about his patients’ well-being, not just their prescriptions. The entire team at Harbor View is also fantastic—professional, efficient, and so pleasant to work with. My experience from start to finish was top-notch. If you’re looking for an eye doctor who is knowledgeable, attentive, and genuinely invested in your health, run, don’t walk, to Dr. K at Harbor View Eye Care! Highly, highly recommend!
I’ve been a patient at Harbor View Eye Care for over 7 years, and until recently, I trusted them to provide ethical, transparent care. That trust was tested when I was charged $285 for a pair of Oakley OX8187 Cerebral eyeglass frames, which retail for $255 on Oakley’s official website. When I inquired about the discrepancy, I was told the higher price was due to tariffs and other cost factors. However, Oakley’s MSRP has remained unchanged at $255 for over a year, and already reflects import duties and distribution costs. No itemized breakdown was provided to justify the markup or explain whether additional services were included. As someone who values clarity and fairness, I found the lack of pricing transparency disappointing. It’s not just about the dollar amount—it’s about the principle. Long-term patients deserve clear communication and ethical billing, especially when trust has been built over many years.I hope this review encourages others to verify pricing and request itemized receipts before committing to purchases.
