Dr Heddle is absolutely wonderful! I drive a half hour and passed multiple other eye doctors to see him. He is very knowledgeable about eyes and the brain and how vision works and can explain what's going on in an easy to understand way. My son has seen him as well and my daughter did vision therapy with him which really helped her eyes be able to focus.

Dr. was friendly and thorough but wasn't listening to me. I found an old pair of glasses that were working really great for me and I wanted to get another pair of those along with a new prescription of reading glasses. I find my reading glasses to be too strong so that I canMt look up and focus on other things in the room so they are hard to use while reading a recipe and then trying to cook, or reading something and then looking up to observe my toddlers in the same room but the lighter prescription allows me to read and see a few feet in front of me. After adamantly stating that I wanted it they grudgingly wrote a prescription based on the glasses I brought in as well. But I felt like I had to fight for it. Also, my son hadn’t noticed that his vision was slipping and they talked to me to say they are worried about how he don’t notice and how I see the world differently than him. Just the way they said it was confusing and I wasn't sure what they were getting at, based on the pamphlets I took I think they were recommending that he have vision therapy sessions with him? It was not clear, and at first it sounded like they were questioning if I had something to do with it.

I am so disappointed with this place. Received a bill from them for a service done two years ago, which I assumed was paid for. Their excuse was that they changed systems & they were just now getting around to going back over files to show outstanding bills. This is so unprofessional & lacking. I sincerely hope any people on a limited budget does not get dunned by this business. In two years, I received nothing from them. I was not sent to collections that would normally happen on a bill that old. My thoughts are that this was their mistake & they should have taken responsibility & consumed those bills. I hope other people review them as I have. I will never be going back there ever.

I would not normally leave a review of this magnitude. However the office staff is the worst I have ever experienced.They also misled me in how the routine appointment would be billed. 5 months after my first routine eye exam (the first with my medicare insurance) I received a confusing bill saying I owed them $45. After an investigation from my insurance company we find they billed both my vision(which would make the visit completely covered) and my medical for additional money. When I questioned the office they said I was rude and hung up on me. I had my husband(who had the same insurance but a different last name) call back 10 minutes later and was told he would absolutely incur no expense for the same routine visit I had just taken. We of course canceled his appointment and have filed a complaint. I suggest you find a different optometrist and save yourself the grieve!

I am editing my original review from 2020. I had an appt in 2023, at the new location. Can't say it was the same positive experience as the first time , but I was able to see the doctor and get renewed scripts, which is the goal. They are very affordable compared to other offices, and I will continue to go here. I made a same day appt to see Dr Austin for a yearly contact exam. The office staff was friendly and ready for me, very professional and answered all my questions. I was in and out within 35min, very very satisfied. They have competitively priced contacts too, I assume they'll be in w/in reasonable time. I look forward to recommending them to all my friends and family!
