I knew LASIK would make my eyes dry, but nobody told me there was a treatment for it until Dr. Patel. My eyes had been dry for so long it became my normal, and staring at screens ~10 hours a day for work probably made it worse. Dr. Patel knew I’d had LASIK, so she checked my eyes and found that my glands were clogged and inflamed. I was never pressured or rushed. She had me try drops and a heated eye mask to see if those would be enough. They weren’t, so we did the dry eye IPL treatment. She gave me the whole price upfront with no surprises and told me honestly that it would take a few treatments to feel a real difference. She was right. She was also upfront that there could be discoloration because of my darker skin tone, so we did a small patch test before starting the full treatment. She did every treatment herself and talked me through what I would feel. She adjusted things based on how I was responding, then pressed the oil out and checked my eyes afterward. The snapping was a bit uncomfortable, but it was over quickly and worth it. I noticed improvement after the second treatment, and by the fourth my eyes felt a lot better. They feel less strained and much healthier. Scheduling was super easy, the staff was great, and she didn’t try to sell me anything else when I was done. I would recommend Dr. Patel to anyone dealing with dry eyes, especially after LASIK.
