I so rarely ever leave reviews, but I feel compelled to leave a review for this business. I have been both a customer and a patient of the optometrist here. The optometrist is wonderful, and I truly trust her. The store itself is beautiful, but the service is some of the worst I’ve ever had. The owners give off a feeling of exclusivity and snobbery. They never answer their phone. They never respond to their emails and I have been several times when they have been closed during their stated business hours with no sign on the door or no explanation. To me that is unacceptable. It’s a shame because they have a beautiful selection of eyewear and a beautiful cur ration of decor in furnishings, but I will no longer spend money with this business because I do not care for the way that I have been treated there.

I had a great experience here. The doctor was incredibly kind, helpful, knowledgeable, and sweet. I felt like I had known her my whole life! She was so easy to talk to. The two men who were working while I was there were so fun, helpful, and gave me honest feedback about the aesthetics of the glasses. Yes, they’re chic. The store gives posh. If that’s not your vibe- maybe not your place. I think it’s worth it to splurge on eyewear.
Sadly, the other reviews complaining that the communication here is terrible are right. The doctor was very nice, but they do not answer the phone, do not return voicemail messages, do not alert you when there is going to be a delay in product delivery, and won't turn over your prescription. Another reviewer summed it up nicely by saying it's a design store that is occasionally selling glasses, rather than a real optometrist. If you actually need your glasses/contacts in order to function and need them in a timely manner (i.e., not just for fashion), go somewhere else.
I loved my experience at iD! The whole team was so helpful that for the first time in my life I have glasses that do what I need and that I can wear all day. I used to be constantly taking my glasses on and off and hated my progressives so they got all scratched up or I would lose them around the house (or completely!). When I explained what I do and what I disliked about my current glasses, the doctor prescribed exactly addressed my needs, and I haven’t lost or scratched either pair for 6 months! Also, their selection was honestly the draw for me. Anthony and Steven were so fun to shop with and the frames I got are so unique. They were pricey but I look at them as an investment now that I can wear them daily. I still get compliments on the regular from friends and strangers alike.
The doctor was helpful and informative, but this place really does not operate like any optometrist I’ve ever been to. It’s an interesting concept, but needs vast improvements to be considered a reliable eye doctor. I’m not one to leave a poor review, but no one noticed when I arrived, they continued consulting their interior design customers. After being sold daily-use contacts (first time in 12 years of wearing contacts that a doctor insisted I wear them) for a much higher price than online - I requested my prescription. After picking up my contacts a week later, I then requested my prescription again. After another week of waiting I request my prescription again. They are only open 4 days a week and do not respond to email or phone. Look, I’m only sharing so they either improve or other customers don’t run into the same issues. I wish them all the best, but this is one of those places that will force you to buy their products, withhold your prescription (so you buy through them), and seems far more invested in selling their high-end decor to their high-end clientele. Please note, optometrists are legally obliged to provide patients with their prescription within 48 hours.
