Ivy Hills Eyecare

Ivy Hills Eyecare is a great place to get your eye exam and Eyewear. Dr. Brian VanDerPloeg, O.D. is one of the best I've had. He's very friendly and explains things so well. There's no pressure to buy there and you get quality care. I've had in and out service before and this isn't what you get here. I appreciate not having to have my eyes dilated and still getting a great eye exam. I did buy my glasses here. It may seem like you're paying high cost, but honestly you're getting better quality items than other places that will last longer as long as you care for your Eyewear correctly. My glasses will last longer without wear and tear than buying every year from someone else.

Dr. VanDerPloeg was wonderful to work with! From my first phone call (receptionist was so kind!) to being greeted at the door as I came in with two babies attached to me. They were so accommodating and understanding of me having my kiddos with me. Their office was so warm and friendly. Loved their holiday decorations, too! Zach was fantastic helping with the eye exam portion and Dr V. made sure I was comfortable in my new contacts, answered all my questions, etc.! 10/10 experience and overall the best customer service. It did not feel like the typical experience you’d have at a mall eyewear store. I will definitely be returning!

If you look for competent, dependable and Patient centered care, then this is the practice you need! Dr. Vanderploeg and his staff patiently answer my questions (includes listening to my chatter,) are very transparent during exams & thoroughly explain findings and recommendations. They work in partnership with the patient to develop a treatment plan. If you choose to purchase frames, lenses or contacts thru them, the Technicians take time to help you choose, explain options & don’t oversell. I began seeing Dr. Vanderploeg when he was with Lens*rafters some years ago & followed him to his private practice. A choice I will never regret! Thanks to the Doctor and his team for such great care!

They listened to everything I said. I didn't feel rushed. The doctor spent a lot of time with me and answered all my questions. The technician that helps pick glasses also spent a lot of time listening to what I wanted and helped me with lots of choices that met my criteria. They even ordered a special pair of frames for me to try on at no cost and no risk/pressure to buy them. I highly recommend.
