John E Bateman OD

I've been a patient in this office for many years, as have my children. Our exams are always very thorough. Dr. Bateman knows from year to year what changes have occurred with our eyes, if any. Due to my difficult prescription, this is extremely reassuring to me. We only get one set of eyes and I feel very confident to have mine in his care! His office staff is knowledgeable and friendly. I just recently had an issue with a pair of glasses that I ordered. They were returned to the lab and completely remade at no additional charge to me. While not the fault of his office, his staff was very apologetic. Shawn always goes above and beyond when assisting me with glasses purchases. I appreciate her guidance and experience. I would highly recommend Dr. Bateman's office for all eye care needs!

This office is amazing! Newly updated and bright and cheery! All the ladies and Dr. Bateman are so friendly! They take their time and ask questions I had never been asked in the past. Shawn is THE BEST at helping you pick out glasses that get many compliments from all that you will come into contact with (she has been helping me for over 15 years!!) You can't go wrong here!

I received the best care from this doctor and got the right glasses I needed to see with plus picked out my frames with one pick. Try that sometime. I also received a lot of compliments from employees, etc. on my glasses selection. Very informational with my diagnosis for proper lenses. I would definitely recommend Dr. Bateman. Nice to have in a small town and I like doing business where I live as well.

I had an appointment there last week. I've been going there since I was little as my parents wouldn't let me switch. The last 3 times I have been there, I specifically asked for an appointment with Dr Carda as I have seen Dr Bateman since I was little and he has been terrible. The receptionists and the woman in charge of frames were incredibly rude. I once again was scheduled with Dr Bateman even though I specifically asked not to see him. Dr Bateman is always incredibly rude and creepy. I wanted my glasses to have the anti-glare and scratch resistant coating and they don't. Everyone there except Dr Carda always has an attitude. My mom had her appt the week of Christmas. It is now February 1st and she still hasn't recieved her glasses. They keep giving her excuses. I will never be going there again.

Dr. Bateman is excellent, but we've had problems with office staff and their attitudes over the years. Also, the hours listed on Google are incorrect. I don't know what their actual office hours are, but I used my 30-minute lunch break to pick up my new glasses, and they were closed. Extremely frustrating, since their hours show that they're open from 8 to 5, with no midday closure. I do recommend Dr. Bateman for his expertise, but would advise purchasing glasses elsewhere if you need more flexibility in office hours and courtesy from staff. *I submitted suggested edits for the office hours to reflect the lunch hour closure, but I still don't know if that's correct. I also tried calling, but there is no voicemail. I've worked with the public and in offices that serve clients for my entire adult life, and never shooed someone out of the office (like I was shooed out of this office today), or worked in an office that didn't have voicemail for all hours of the day.
