If I could leave no star i would! This is for my husband. I would just like to say how disappointed I feel about my aftercare. I was completely ignored by your office and my pcp office who has been managing my pain medication since November 2025. My pcp office was under the impression that your office would be managing my pain medication 6 weeks post op after such a serious overwhelming and painful surgery. But after deliberations between both offices both of you left me out to dry with no pain medicine cold turkey with nothing to even help with withdrawal symptoms only 1 week post op. When trying to explain this to the provider I saw in my initial post op visit at 3 weeks post op which was not my surgeon after a 3 hour commute I tried voicing my concerns to be completely ignored and dismissed when I was trying to explain how much pain I still am experiencing. I really thought after a 3 hour commute the surgeon would be seeing me post op to discuss how healing is, reviewing X-rays and communicating about my pain level but I was rushed out and left unheard. Not a fan of aftercare from this facility at all! I could have got an X-ray and stitches removed closer to home and saw by my orthopedic doctor at home if I knew I was not seeing my surgeon. I will never see this office again for anything. I underwent a proximal row carpectomy on my right wrist of my dominant hand which was the removal of the top three bones in my wrist with nothing that went in to replace them. This surgery was done after a failed surgery about 8 months prior that left me with necrotic bones a pin through my scaphoid pieces that did not fuse together as planned and I was left with inflammation, swelling and just as much pain if not more than before I started.

I had a wonderful experience today having surgery here. I was greeted with smiles that made me feel comfortable and safe! My nurse Emily with Dr.Dunshee was the best and most caring nurse I’ve ever seen. She went above and beyond to help make my experience even more special!

I had surgery in August 2025. Prior to having surgery I called and asked them how much it would be. I clearly told them I was shopping around .. she told me no problem that she could get me a price but it would take a few days because it had to go through pre-authorization. I was fine with that... She called me back about a week later and gave me the price. I paid it the day of surgery... Now MONTHS later... I get a bill for an additional 1k !!!! Are you kidding me! I am on a budget! How can health care facilities managed to get away with being such crooks. It's absolutely heartbreaking. My care was wonderful surgery went great but absolutely poor at best in the billing area .. much room for improvement.

I cannot say enough good things about the facility, staff, nurses, and Dr. Tuba Esfandyari, MD. The entire experience (I was there for a screening colonoscopy) was excellent. I was greeted by a kind, efficient check-in staff; the aides and nurses were more than informative and caring. Dr. Esfandyari was informative, patient, and more than generous with her time explaining things before and after. I felt safe, received excellent care, and every single person with whom I interacted took wonderful care. Should you have a choice, insist on this location. I could not asked for better care. Thank you!

I have to drop a massive kudos here for my surgical team, both the pre-op and recovery nurses especially. My recovery nurse went above and beyond to help me become comfortable after my gallbladder removal procedure. I woke up in terrible pain, probably the worst I have ever experienced and I've had previous laparoscopic surgeries for endometriosis. Anyway, Kari, I believe was her name. Really made me feel less scared. She wiped away my tears and even held my hand a little bit. She ran out to contact the anesthesiologist to see what else we could do to ease my discomfort. I really can't praise her enough. While this was certainly a more traumatic surgery, KU Med really goes above and beyond. For that, I'm eternally grateful.
