Dr. Alig's office was sold to another company and as such the rates have drastically changed for services I was informed today. My husband went for a routine eye visit, and was fitted for contacts as he always is at each of these visits. At no time during the visit was it disclosed that the fitting fee had drastically increased. He was told that the fitting fee was $105 and he had no choice but to pay it. I called to ask why this wasn't disclosed and the very unfriendly and unprofessional lady in accounting informed me that they do not have to disclose the cost of services before they are rendered, and proceeded to ask me if I inquired about the cost of additional tests needed when visiting my doctor. It isn't any of her business, but sadly for her there is a law that requires them to disclose the cost of services before they are provided. Make sure to request the cost of services in advance, as their costs have now doubled. After more than 20 years as a patient with Dr. Alig, I will be finding another vision provider. The rude employees and lack of transparency in services are both things that can be avoided and managed better. Rather than escalating a situation and calling consumers liars, they should try to correct the issue. If someone had visited my office for nearly 20 years, I would offer a discount on the fitting fee or to just waive it for this one instance. However, that is the difference in knowing the right thing to do and proving you are right. Today Lisa in accounting chose to prove she was right and ultimately lost 2 customers, which I am sure they will not care about nor miss. Edited to add that the generic response the office posted is just that. I called their office back 3-4 times to only have someone pickup the phone and hang up on me. I have emailed to request my husbands prescription and have not received a response, nor has anyone reached out to me. Nice try by their office to try and save face with a generic “We care about you” response.

I am VERY happy with my glasses. I was waiting for the doctor so I went to see the glasses and a young employee came and helped me choose. She also fixed the glasses I had before that were bothering me. After I saw the doctor she came and had chosen other pairs she thought i would like. I ended up getting one she had chosen for me. And I love them. She was very helpful with everything from choosing them to explaining what was gonna be paying for . Very happy with the overall experience
***PLEASE READ BEFORE GOING*** I have been going to this office for 10+ years. They are now under new ownership and Dr. Alig retired. I recommend going anywhere else but here unless money doesn’t matter. They have their prices extremely inflated way past average market cost. Absolutely no reason other than to make as much money possible off of unsuspecting patients that have always gone here to see Dr Alig. A couple examples for you, contact fitting usually cost around 48$ they charged 105$. They asked if I would be willing to use their brand contacts as a generic replacement to my standard cooper vision biofinity toric lenses. They quoted me 330$ for a year supply of off brand contacts. I asked about pricing, mentioning how much less I just paid in April, and they said prices have went up recently. I then proceeded to show them you can still get them for 220$ through Costco, or 200$ through Walmart. Her answer was “it’s up to you” .The icing on the cake was they offered with approval to discount my fitting to 48$ which is what Dr. Alig always charged, later to find out that offer was only good if I bought their contacts. I recommend calling around and getting pricing, this is by far the most expensive I have ever seen. What a nice surprise after waiting since April to get in.
The staff were incredibly friendly and educated me on some warranties that were available to my glasses at no cost. From check in to my exam, I could not be more satisfied. This is an amazing small business. I will definitely be a returning patient.
I highly recommend Dr.Alig. He is a highly qualified optometrist. He really takes his time to make sure that you get the best correction possible! Besides that,he is a kind and caring person! The staff is exceptional as well! They are efficient and everyone treated me with the upmost kindness and respect. I highly recommend that you see this Dr. and staff. It is rare to have this experience,as I have been in other offices and it was like a mill! They give you a personal experience which is getting rare these days! Hope
