Dr Kovach is wonderful. The staff at the office are amazing. They take time with you and help you understand your diagnosis and procedure. Dr Kovach made me feel very comfortable having my cataract removal and lens implants. I would definitely recommend him and his staff. They are incredible. Having this procedure was one of the best decisions I have ever made. I wouldn’t go anywhere else!!!

I will be fair: the doctors are friendly, and the office is clean. But that does not excuse the terrible experience I had with Kovach Eye Institute’s billing department and overall patient service. The biggest issue is their billing. I was billed almost two years later for something my insurance had already adjusted within about two weeks. Kovach Eye Institute never properly informed me, never clearly explained what was happening, and allowed the bill to build up until it reached a certain amount (like a thousands?). That is completely unacceptable. When I contacted the billing department, they were extremely unhelpful. They could not explain why the insurance declined or what actually happened with the claim. They did not seem interested in helping me understand anything. Their only response was basically: just pay. That is not customer service. That is not how patients should be treated. On top of that, the wait time is ridiculous. Even when I was the first person to check in, I still had to wait at least one hour before seeing the doctor, and I mean just sitting in the room. Every visit feels like you need to block off at least two hours, no matter how early you arrive or how prepared you are. A clean office and good doctors are not enough when the administration, scheduling, and billing are this frustrating. Patients should not be left waiting for hours and then surprised with large bills years later with no proper explanation. The billing department’s attitude made the whole situation even worse. I would be very cautious about coming here. Be prepared for long waits, poor communication, confusing billing, and rude treatment if there is ever a billing issue.

I was referred to this clinic and I have to say I liked it. It's quite easy to book an appointment. The place is clean. The staff are attentive. The only thing I didn't like was when I went to my last appointment I had to wait 45 minutes in the room and the doctor saw me for 5 minutes. That never happened to me before. But, I still recommend this place because it does have great specialists in the clinic.

Dr Kovach was brisk in informing us that my elderly mom would have to have cataract surgery as soon as possible and that he couldn’t be more confident than 75% likelihood of retaining any of her vision unless she did the laser surgery with the most expensive lenses. We were overwhelmed and saw two other highly reputable doctors who both said that was absolutely not necessary, that the situation was not urgent, and that as long as she didn’t mind continuing to wear readers, standard lenses covered by Medicare were totally fine. Kovach almost got $4500 from an elderly woman. The other eye doctors we saw said “I’m sorry” when I told them that we initially gone to him. Even though we were early to the appointment we up waited for an hour. The nurse and reception team were great, though.
