Dr. Jared Duncan is an exceptional eye doctor. He is kind, compassionate, personable, and has a wonderful sense of humor that immediately puts both children and parents at ease. He takes the time to listen, explains everything clearly, and truly cares about his patients. What stands out most is how incredibly patient and understanding he is with my 12 year old child. Dr. Duncan meets him where he is, makes him feel comfortable, and never rushes the appointment. His calm, encouraging approach has made eye exams a positive experience instead of a stressful one. Finding a physician who combines clinical expertise with genuine compassion is invaluable, and Dr. Duncan does exactly that. I highly recommend him to anyone, especially families with neurodiverse children. We are so grateful to have found such an outstanding eye doctor.

Dr. Duncan is one of the very best providers we’ve ever seen. He is very good at what he does and is super thoughtful about his patients as people at the same time. He’s gifted at interacting with our child and that goes a long way for trusting the process and making our son comfortable. We live three hours away now but still make the trip because he’s that good.
It is always a polite and friendly office experience, at Arlington Eye Assoc. They are usually on time, and I am always pleased with my exam and my results. Dr .Umlas is a lovely man, and a proficient practitioner.
I would give this place a negative million stars if I could. This was, without a doubt, the worst experience I've ever had at an eye care office. I was running about five minutes behind because finding parking was extremely difficult. As soon as I realized I might be a few minutes late, I called the office to let them know. The person I spoke with told me it was fine, so I continued to my appointment expecting everything would be okay. When I arrived, I was shocked to find out that my appointment had already been rescheduled without anyone explaining why or trying to work with me. To make matters even worse, the woman at the front desk rolled her eyes at me and treated me with complete disrespect. Instead of being understanding or professional, she made me feel like I was an inconvenience. The front desk staff was incredibly rude, dismissive, and unprofessional throughout the interaction. Customer service was completely unacceptable. A medical office should treat patients with kindness, respect, and compassion, especially when someone has taken the time to call ahead and communicate that they're only running a few minutes behind due to circumstances beyond their control. I understand that offices have policies regarding late arrivals, and I respect that. However, if I was told over the phone that arriving a few minutes late was okay, I expected that information to be honored or, at the very least, communicated respectfully if there was an issue. Instead, I was met with attitude, poor communication, and an unprofessional response. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this eye care office to anyone. There are plenty of providers that value their patients and know how to treat people with courtesy and respect. I will not be returning, and I sincerely hope management addresses the behavior of the front desk staff, because no patient should be made to feel the way I did.
We are thrilled with the exceptional care provided by Dr. Duncan. He is truly one of our favorite people and he is an outstanding clinician. Throughout our time under his care, he has consistently demonstrated a high level of professionalism and deep medical knowledge. Beyond his clinical expertise, his wonderful sense of humor and the great rapport he has built with my children make every visit a positive experience. We value him dearly as both a professional and a person.
