Madelyn Kowal, O.D. TERRIBLE SERVICE 😠 😡 😤 I would like a different doctor to be seen by as well as a second opinion ASAP meaning, I don't want to have to wait for over a month to be seen for only a ten minute rush office visit. I want to be seen by someone who will pay attention & listen to all I have to say. I don't know who the first person was that I was seen by or who was measuring my eyes but I wasn't happy with that person as well so I would like a different person to be seen by before I see my new doctor as well. It took me over a month just to have to wait to be seen for only about a ten minute rush office visit. Now I need to reschedule to be seen by another doctor who actually takes their time with their patients. What is going to be the wait time this time? One month, two month, three months out only to be seen for a few minutes. This visit was a waste of time. I didn't even get my problems resolved, which was why I wanted to be seen in the first place. I also don't feel comfortable & I don't like how they rushed me through my appointment which only lasted me about ten minutes. They need to have more patience with their customers especially those who have a disability, a handicap & who are special needs. I feel like either of them wanted to listen to me or pay attention to me to any of my concerns or any of my problems that I have been experiencing. I also don't like how they automatically assume that I was there for glasses which means the person who scheduled my appointment did not put in the correct information. All she kept saying was glasses will help improve your vision, which that might be a fact, but they are not going to help improve or fix the blurriness that I have been experiencing in my right eye & they are not going to help improve or fix the problems that I have been experiencing such as a lazy eye on both sides ever since my accident. I have already had one eye fixed in the past & the surgery worked really well but then I was in a accident to where I hit the corner of my head & cause both of my eyes to get messed up & all she wants to talk to me about is about glasses. I have already tried wearing glasses in the past & they are both uncomfortable & irritating around my ears & on my nose. I also need an urgent status to be added to the referral that was given to me. This is not a personal request from me, this was a personal request from the location that they referred me to. Their call center called me. They said that they don't have anything available until out in December. They said to me that if I want to be seen sooner, that I need to get the doctor to add the urgent status to the original referral which she seems to refuse. She stated to the receptionist who returned my call that she's not going to make changes to the referral & if they want to see me sooner, that would be up to them. They do want to see me sooner, but according to the call center, who called me, they don't have anything sooner unless it is marked as an urgent referral. This lady does not seem like a good doctor & I really don't like her attitude or professional skills towards people like myself. She does not seem like a good fit for me. I need a doctor who is going to listen to me & pay attention to me along with all of my concerns & problems that I have been experiencing. I don't know what happened to the original person who I used to see, but this is not the same person. If I can't get the services that I need, then I will need to be referred to another place to go to. What kind or type of place begs you to get glasses but they only give you a prescription & they don't even accept your medical insurance to cover them. What kind or type of place rushes you throughout your office visit. They send you to another place with a list of places that accept your medical insurance. If you all don't accept medical insurance for the customer's glasses, then you all shouldn't accept medical insurance to see customers.

Thank goodness they are not the only choice in eye care! I have| been there in the past and didn't care for the service. My son recently was killed and my grief has been manifesting physically. I had a bout with Bells Palsy. Which prompted testing. Most the symptoms have stopped but I am experiencing distorted vision and my PCP wants me to see an opthamologist. I tried to make an appointment after getting a text from them and I was told they couldn't schedule me because of an old balance that went to collections. I said I would just pay it so I could get an appointment. It was $57.09 from 10 years ago. So I paid it. Now I am told they will not open my account or see me as a patient. Over $57.09, that I paid, even though technically it was uncollectible after 7 years. Ridiculous.

Took my mother here for an appointment and found that they were short staffed and the wait certainly confirmed this. Once getting called back the process was somewhat rushed, again a result of the short staffing. Either way my mom was throughly examined and provided a prescription as well as a recommendation for further review of developing cataracts. Once there is adequate staffing i imagine things will be ran much smoother and quicker.

The doctor was rude and short. She asked me why I was there even after I explained I was there for a routine annual exam. She did not address a current eye condition or the prescription I use to treat it. Not thorough at all. I felt like a number and that she was in some sort of hurry. She treated me like I had wasted her time. What a disappointment. Sadly, the Loeye comment on my review asking me to contact them to discuss is rather insulting. Seems as though THEY should reach out to all unhappy customers to resolve the issue. The onus to resolve their problem is NOT on the customer.

Kind staff, clean office. It would be appreciated if they spent more time in their Mt Pleasant office. I am.impressed that they opened on a Saturday to squeeze in our emergency. The loaner wheelchairs were useful.
