Dr Watkins always takes the time to find the best solution for our family. My two children as well as my husband and I have enjoyed our interactions with and trust advice from Dr. Watkins over 8 years. She is knowledgeable and respectful.

Dr Zangenberg was great! He is very gentle, which is so appreciated when someone is touching your eyes!! He led me through each step he was taking, so there were no surprises. He was thorough, professional, annd knowledgeable . All in all, I found him to be very humble, which is a wonder attribute for a doctor!

My experience with Medical Eye Specialists was extremely disappointing and felt like a complete waste of time and money. Before scheduling, I called the office three separate times to explain my partner's situation. He suffers from chronic dry eyes, and I made sure his previous medical records were sent to the clinic in advance. I specifically confirmed the costs associated with a new patient visit and clearly explained that he could not afford unnecessary testing, repeated exams, or an appointment that would simply tell him what he already knew. Despite all of that preparation, the appointment was handled very poorly. We waited over an hour and twenty minutes past the scheduled appointment time before being seen. When we finally met with the ophthalmologist, the entire interaction lasted about five minutes. No meaningful evaluation was performed, and we learned nothing new about his condition. The doctor reviewed his history and ultimately recommended the exact next step that had already been outlined in his previous treatment plan: prescription steroid eye drops. In the end, the only thing we received from the appointment was a prescription for steroid eye drops that were already the anticipated next step in treatment. There was no new diagnosis, no discussion of alternative options, and no specialized insight that justified the lengthy wait or the cost of the visit. The most frustrating part was receiving a bill for $320 for what amounted to a five-minute conversation and a prescription. Had we been informed beforehand that the outcome would simply be a prescription for the next treatment already identified in his prior records, we never would have scheduled the appointment. When we raised concerns about the cost given the minimal care provided, we were told there was no flexibility and no possibility of negotiating the charges. Between the excessive wait time, lack of meaningful medical guidance, and high cost for virtually no benefit, this was one of the most frustrating healthcare experiences we have had. We took every reasonable step to provide records and communicate our concerns in advance, yet it felt as though none of that information mattered. I would not recommend this clinic to anyone seeking specialized care for chronic dry eye issues.
