I discovered this place randomly shortly after I'd broken a pair of glasses I'd had for over a decade. And I have not regretted it since. The staff are polite, welcoming, and friendly, and the doctor who handles my exams is the best I've ever seen. His knowledge, and willingness to address my issues have all been beneficial with regards to prescription. I highly recommend this establishment.
Excellent staff including Jerome who had me run through different eye tests via very current medical technology. Then Dr Luke Hurbert throughly examined my eyes and came up with a prescription for me to wear when I need better vision. He was excellent. Patient, kind and smart - I am very happy with my new optometrist and highly recommend this Crystal City practice.
This is a really great office and staff, and I've had a great experience with eye exams and contacts. However, I have had a horrible experience with frames and fitting and advise anyone to STEER CLEAR and get glasses elsewhere. They will cajole you into whatever new pair seems closest to what you walked in with, and they won't provide any explanation or compare measurements if there's issues. I hated the first pair of frames I got from them, and went back, had to fight back and forth with them a ton about why the fit was so bad, paid an up charge for a different pair, but recently gave up on those too and switched back to a pair with my old prescription. Lots of frames now are poorly designed and cheaply made, and your options will be further restricted due to insurance and style. I could actually buy the same frames totally outside of my insurance for CHEAPER than the copay through NVDO. And of course, they'll absolutely refuse to fit any outside frames, which is not reasonable. (Although I accidentally tricked them into fitting my 3rd-party frames because they got confused about which frames were from them 😂) The bottom line: great spot for eye exams and contacts, but steer clear for frames.
My best optometrist/optician experience to date. Everyone was fair, warm, and accommodating and didn't try to upsell you or anything like those eyeball mills do. Definitely bringing my entire family here even though I live in DC. They also validate parking for the garage downstairs.Thanks Ms. Brianna and Dr. Look.
I suffer from early glaucoma, and Dr. Doan was my eye doctor for close to 10 years. She is absolutely great. In 2023, I moved to Florida and sadly had to say goodbye. I've now gone through two different eye doctors in Florida and was never truly happy. As my wife and I are up in Virginia multiple times each year to visit our grandson, I reached out to Dr. Doan to resume my care. Highly recommend her for anyone seeking knowledgeable, personalized, and thorough eye care. Thanks Dr. Doan.
