Front desk is always kind and always follow-up with you before you leave. The doctor is great super nice, friendly and always professional. Every time I go for a visit I feel like the staff takes care of me because they care for me.

Awful, awful patient communication and service. I called the Contact Lens department to order new contacts after being given trial lenses. I called the office many times, finally got an answer. Someone took my information, said they would call the next day. Two days passed, no call, so I call them back, again many times, finally someone answers and says they cannot find my chart. No problem, that happens. I tell them that during the time of my visit I was in the middle of changing my name after getting married, so it may be under my maiden name and apologize for not remembering this sooner. She says okay, I will call you back. Several hours later, no call, so AGAIN, I call them, and the woman says "You know you really shouldn't say your name is XYZ if its not, I been looking for your chart for two days". She was extremely rude and unkind. I explained to her that I didn't purposefully give her the wrong name, but also she didn't ask for my DOB or any other identifying information and she also did not EVER CALL ME BACK, I initiated all calls with this office trying to get this sorted out. Absolutely awful, I will be seeking care elsewhere.

Called to make my appointment at the 1080 5th Ave location. They looked up my insurance and told me they took it, told me the costs. Got to 89th and 5th only to be told they don’t take my plan despite the office looking my plan up by my name when I made the appointment. Receptionist just stared at me blankly after telling me this, offering no help or instructions. Took me an hour and a half to get there for an appointment that never should have been confirmed in the first place. This place is a joke.

The Manhattan receptionist is incredibly unhelpful and unpleasant to deal with. She is meant to assist in putting in/taking off contacts. While I was removing my scleral lenses for the first time in-office, I had trouble removing the lens in one eye, and I asked her the right way to remove it. She told me to just keep pulling at it until it came out, and then walked away. I kept pulling on the plunger and did not want to force it, but I could not get any assistance, and the plunger was still in my eye. The lens did not pop off until after I felt my eye pulling forward out of its socket which felt extremely unpleasant and abnormal, and definitely was not the correct way to remove it. Shortly after this, my floaters became more progressively numerous and prominent in that one eye, which has been very disturbing. On the phone and in-person, she does not have the patience or capacity to correctly explain billing and other procedures, and takes on a negative, unwilling-to-help attitude with patients.
