Recovering from major surgery is never fun, but if I had to do it again, I would like to do it here. My care team was excellent, the room was one of the nicest hospital rooms I've ever seen, and I was very surprised how good the meals were. The worst bit of my stay was a malfunctioning wound vacuum that would sound an obstruction alarm every 10 minutes or so in the middle of the night, but my care team had someone on shift at 3 am so we got that resolved very very quickly. I felt like I was getting the best possible care from the time I arrived to the time I was discharged.

Incredible state of the art modern facility. Recovered in the neurosurgery ICU here. Incredibly clean, safe and well maintained facility with exceptional doctors and nursing teams. Huge 73” inch TVs and stunning city and East River views to boot!

This was my second time at this hospital. I have a neurological immune disease, and sometimes things get complicated, requiring me to be hospitalized for treatment. From the beginning, my neurologist ,an absolute angel , made sure to communicate with the hospital about my condition and my arrival. From the moment I was admitted to the E.R., I received nothing but kindness and care. The neurologist came to check on me shortly after. After a brief stay in the E.R., I was taken to my room on the 17th floor, where I was greeted by an amazing nurse, Fiona, who cared for me during the night shift. During the day, I was looked after by Julia—what incredible humans! I’m deeply thankful for the care and comfort they provided. What a perfect team God placed in my life during such a vulnerable moment. The hospital is incredible , truly a 5-star facility. I can’t even imagine anything better than this existing. Once again, thank you to every single person who crossed my path during this stay. Thank you for choosing a life of caring for others, your kindness, compassion, and dedication mean more than words can express.

While the surgeon and most of the hospital have been amazing. We were not treated with any compassion by a woman at reception at 3:00am at the Kimmel pavilion. Our mom had just had an 8 hour surgery that the surgeon g-d bless him was kind and caring to us! He deserves 10 stars! The rest of the staff on every floor was also so nice! In pre-op, in post op etc... At 3am we were waiting to see our mom in recovery, a good friend was coming to relieve us for the rest of what was left of the night. My sister was waiting upstairs in the post- op area so as not to miss the nurse coming to get us to see our mom. I went downstairs so our friend could go up instead of me...the receptionist would not let her go up until my sister came down. They were going to literally switch places. She just kept saying THE RULES!!! (As an aside there were other families with several members who had been up there after 9pm waiting to see their loved ones in recovery, who left by 12 am.) Now we believe in rules! We would never break any rules! We just wanted to switch places! She said NO! We tried to explain that one would go up and that one would come right down, the answer was NO!!! We had just had an 8 hour wait during a delicate surgery, but she just sat there and said NO!!! A guard volunteered to go up with our friend, and come down with my sister. So that's what we did, like we were common crooks who couldnt be trusted to switch places! There was literally no one else there, we weren't starting a stampede to break any rules! THERE WAS ZERO COMPASSION!!! It was absolutely disgusting!!! Not what a hospital should be showing to family members at 3:30 am. Sorry!!!
