My mother-in-law had cataract surgery on both eyes with Dr. Jue, and we had a great experience. Dr. Jue was professional, patient, and thorough in explaining the procedures and answering our questions. Both surgeries went smoothly, and we are very satisfied with the care she received from Dr. Jue and her staff.

Upon the recommendation of trusted friends, I went to see Dr. Jue. As my friends said, Dr. Jue is professional, courteous, personable and direct in her assessment, which for me is to hold off on cataract surgery for the moment while continuing to monitor annually. Her staff is friendly and the office is clean and comfortable. I have also recommended Dr. Jue to a dear friend who will continue to see Dr. Jue as well.
TLDR: The doctor is good at cataract surgeries, but there are shady practices by her and her staff to pressure patients, mostly seniors, to pay out-of-pocket for expensive laser procedures that may not be necessary. My parent feels put off that this dr office basically ostracized them for opting out of laser. It seems like they’re pushing people to get the expensive laser surgery for money. Always do your research. Full Review: This doctor mostly sees seniors for cataract surgery. Most (or all) were recommended to get an additional laser procedure to correct astigmatism. The laser procedure is not covered by insurance and requires an additional $2k+ out of pocket costs. I researched online and found out that there is no difference between traditional and laser cataract removal. There is no advantage to laser. My parent, who is already fearful of the eye surgery, didn’t even want to get this done to begin with. They insisted that their vision is fine. Based on those factors, we decided against the laser procedure. Because my parent declined the laser procedure, they felt that the dr and her staff no longer treated them the same as the other patients that paid extra. The day of the surgery in the waiting room, the dr overlooked/ignored my parent and paid more attention to others doing laser. At the last follow-up, my parent arrived at their appointment on time, yet the staff called every other patients, even those that arrived after, into the examination rooms except for them. They had to complain to the staff before being called in. As for the actually doctor, the surgery went well, there were no complications. The follow-ups were quick and brief. They have a system to efficiently get everyone out by the afternoon, because again, all this dr really does is cataract surgeries.
I had my cataract surgery on my right eye on April 28 2025 and my left eye on June 3 2025 performed by Dr.Andrea Jue. Now I can see things very clearly. Dr.Jue is an excellent ophthalmologist. She explained all the details before surgery and answered all my questions clearly and sometimes in humorous way. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Thanks for the professional services. Highly recommend!
Horrible experience with Dr. Andrea Jue, the nurse, and staff. This doctor just wanted you to go in blind to do the procedure and get her payment without taking responsibility. Dr. Andrea Jue has no care for the patients, doesn’t want to explain anything, and if you ask questions, she and her nurse would give you an attitude and make you feel like you’re stupid for even asking questions about your own health. I made an appointment to do a procedure with Dr. Andrea Jue. As it involves my eyesight and have never experienced this before, I had some questions I wanted to ask the doctor directly before the procedure. I informed the nurse and she went and told the doctor that I didn’t want to do the procedure. Dr Andrea Jue then came in and her first words were “so you refused to do the procedure?” She was extremely impatient and gave me an attitude the whole time. I told her I just had some questions I wanted to ask her and wanted more clarification before proceeding. I barely got two questions in, before Dr Andrea Jue cuts me off and told me I should just get a third opinion and gave off the attitude that she wants me to get out of her sight. It was as if I was “wasting” her time. I told her I wanted to understand the procedure first and what side effects there are. She just wants me out. The whole exchange took less than 4 minutes. Then the front desk starts giving me an attitude and said I refused the procedure. I never had such an awful experience with a doctor and her staff before. If you go to Dr. Andrea Jue, you will be talked down to and be expected to shut up and go into the procedure blind.
