I took my daughter to Optimum Vision Eye Care for vision therapy and spent approximately $2,500 on treatment. Unfortunately, my experience was very disappointing. Throughout the course of therapy, there was little to no communication regarding my daughter’s progress. At no point were measurable improvements, benchmarks, or outcomes clearly discussed with us. About halfway through the program, Dr. Gieger began bringing additional trainees into the room during our sessions. While I understand the need for staff training, this occurred during approximately 8 of our 16 sessions and created a noticeable distraction for my daughter, which impacted her ability to focus. We were very clear from the beginning that our goal with vision therapy was to avoid surgery, and Dr. Gieger expressed confidence that this would be achievable. We followed all in-office sessions and continued therapy exercises at home. We were also encouraged to enroll in an additional vision therapy program costing $250 per month, which we ultimately did not pursue. At a recent follow-up appointment intended to evaluate my daughter’s progress—particularly after multiple prescription changes—we were seen primarily by staff members who appeared uncertain about the testing procedures. Only one staff member seemed confident in administering the evaluation. When we finally met with Dr. Gieger, the interaction felt rushed and dismissive. After learning we had not enrolled in the additional monthly program, her demeanor was noticeably curt. She examined my daughter for only a few minutes before recommending surgery, without providing a clear explanation of progress, regression, or the reasoning behind this conclusion. We were charged $165 for this visit, yet no meaningful discussion of results or next steps was provided. Following the appointment, I attempted to reach out multiple times over the course of a week via email but received no response. Additionally, I found the front desk staff to be unprofessional and unhelpful during recent visits. This was surprising, as the office previously had a much more welcoming and supportive environment. One particularly concerning experience occurred during an earlier visit when my daughter—who was only three years old at the time—became upset after having her eyes dilated. Instead of responding with patience, Dr. Gieger handled the situation in a way that felt unnecessarily harsh and lacked compassion for a young child in distress. Overall, I cannot recommend this practice based on our experience. Clear communication, professionalism, and patient care—especially when working with young children—are essential, and unfortunately, these expectations were not met.
Amazing doctor and staff. Beautiful office. Dr Geiger takes her time with you and treats you like family. I highly recommend this practice to anyone who needs their services
Dr. Geiger is honestly… super passive aggressive & ultimately was not helpful other than prescribing glasses that made it HARDER to see. Could be wrong but pretty sure glasses are supposed to do the opposite? Especially when you pay hundreds of dollars for them 🥴 Frustrating — & even went back for a re-do but that pair wasn’t much better & her attitude became even worse. Staff is mostly quite kind but after having to deal with Dr. Geiger’s attitude and actual shooing me out of the room I have zero desire to go back. Not sure why some providers become really mean when all you’re trying to get is their help.
I visited this vision center to get my prescription glasses. The staff is friendly and explained the lens options clearly. My husband and and I are very happy with Dr Greiger professional services. We recommend her highly 👓👓
