My glasses broke yesterday so I called Stanton and they were able to make me a same day appointment! The staff was very friendly and took their time during my eye exam to talk to me about my eye health and make sure I felt comfortable during the exam with my results. The wait was a little longer than I thought it would be especially because I had an appointment but the experience and friendliness of the staff made it an enjoyable experience. The metal chairs need some cushion especially because with long wait times comfort for your customers is a must. The exam process was enjoyable as me and the exam tech laughed and had good conversation. She made sure to wipe down everything before. During the purchasing process the woman was so kind and she made sure we were comfortable with the prices and walked us through the discounts and features for my glasses. Again, very patient and kind. Stanton has a wide selection of different kinds of glasses and I found 3 pairs that I loved! The facility was nice and clean and you can tell they care. I will definitely be coming here for my glasses needs.

I had a very positive experience with Stanton Optical. I purchased a pair of glasses and had one repaired. The customer service technician (Albany) is very professional, knowledgeable and friendly. She explained what I needed to know about my purchase, for example the price and when I could expect delivery. I recommend this store for your optical eye wear needs.
Apparently, my new optometrist is Dr. AI. The last time I went to Stanton I saw 2 doctors for my eye appointment (the first one was 'glitchy). This time I saw no doctor. I saw a tech, who introduced herself to me twice within a few minutes of each meeting. She explained that I was being seen by a doctor today, but that I wouldn't be seeing him (because NOBODY can see behind the curtain). I fully expected the doctor to be named "Claude" but I didn't get that pleasure. I NAILED the letter test, because I watch Wheel of Fortune. After my appointment, I was led out to the clinic manager, Albany. She showed me my prescription after I asked for it and she explained that the numbers meant something higher than I would ever understand. (Kidding. She didn't explain my numbers at all.) I picked out my 2 for $79 frames and was not given guidance one time on my choices. With my progressive lenses and add-ons they were $293, a far cry from 2 for $79. If I had gotten the blue light coating then they would have been over $400. (That coating is a scam at best.) I waited almost two weeks for my glasses. Stanton has an in-house lab that appears to be used to store the glasses that were shipped from their distributor. I got a text that my glasses were ready so I threw on some clothes, jumped in the car, got there and pulled on a locked door. The office was closed because they had no power. But somehow my glasses were scanned that they were in... I could have understood being closed, but I was settled at home, after work, and rushed to Stanton so it was a special trip. When I got my glasses, it felt like, "You have your glasses, now go." They were super busy with 2 other customers in the office... Oh, I'm sorry, we're called PATIENTS because this is a MEDICAL appointment. I am not getting shirts at Target. A couple of thoughts from a guy with 30+ years of customer service experience. Make us think we're seeing a doctor, even if we aren't. I am now HIGHLY suspicious of who did my exam. I think I did my exam and you just gave me my numbers... After I asked for them. You should pay attention to your patients, when they are in your chair. Especially when there is nobody else in the office (which may explain why nobody is beating down your door). And, don't make your patients feel like a bother. This also leads to empty offices. Caring isn't hard, but it does take some effort. So does success. (By the way, my glasses work great. Because I KNOW MY LETTERS! LOL!)
I had a very disappointing experience with Stanton Optical. There wasn’t an actual eye doctor onsite to perform the eye exam, which was concerning from the start. On top of that, they got my glasses prescription wrong three separate times before finally correcting it. The entire process was frustrating, time-consuming, and completely avoidable. Customer service was also poor. Communication was lacking, and I never felt like my concerns were taken seriously. After multiple visits and delays just to get the correct prescription, I can’t say I was satisfied with the service I received. Unfortunately, I would not recommend Stanton Optical based on my experience.
Abilene location (3568 S Clack St, Suite B). I have been a customer at this location on and off for several years and have never experienced anything like this. After completing my exam and selecting a pair of glasses, I was assisted by an employee identified as LaRayveughn. From the beginning of the interaction, her demeanor was dismissive, unwelcoming, and unprofessional. I was told my total would be $70, but no explanation or breakdown of the charges was provided. I want to be very clear that I had no issue paying the amount due - I simply wanted clarification, as I am not familiar with my current insurance coverage. I specifically asked about the contact lens fitting fee, as I was not purchasing contacts and only needed my glasses and contacts prescriptions updated and to purchase a new pair of frames with lenses. Instead of providing a clear explanation, the employee appeared irritated, gave very short responses, and made no effort to ensure I understood the charges. I remained polite and tried to give the benefit of the doubt, but the interaction continued in the same dismissive manner. When I attempted to express that the interaction felt unnecessarily rude, I was interrupted multiple times and spoken over. Earlier in the visit, this same employee also told me that my trial contact lenses were not available. Due to the interaction, I requested assistance from another staff member. The second employee was kind, professional, and immediately provided a clear explanation of the charges. She then checked in the back and was able to locate my trial contact lenses, which I had previously been told were unavailable. The contrast between these two interactions made it clear that the issue was not confusion or misunderstanding on my part, but rather a lack of communication, professionalism, and courtesy from the initial employee, LaRayveughn. By the end of the visit, I was extremely upset and left in tears. No customer should feel that way after a routine visit. I am sharing this not because of the cost, but because of the way I was treated. I am requesting that this situation be formally reviewed and addressed. This includes appropriate coaching or disciplinary action to ensure that future customers are treated with respect and provided clear, accurate information. I have had positive experiences at this location in the past, which makes this situation especially disappointing. However, this experience has caused me to reconsider ever returning.
