The staff is amazing. Everyone is so nice and kind. I used Princeton eye group and said I had an emergency with my eye. I was told I needed to wait 4-5 months before getting in. The staff at Overlook got me in on the same day. Dr Trottini was very professional and made sure he listened to my concerns and helped me understand what my issue was. If I could give 10 star review I absolutely would.

This place is disorganized, misleading, and not worth your time. I called earlier in the morning to see if I could come in ahead of my scheduled appointment. They told me I could arrive 15 minutes early. I showed up 10 minutes early, and we still waited over 30 minutes -- which means we were 15 minutes past the original appointment time. There are 17+ people in the waiting room. It was obvious they had zero chance of taking anyone early, yet they told me to come in anyway. I should have checked the reviews before booking. This place gets roasted for exactly the issues I experienced: long waits, poor communication, and a generally chaotic operation. It feels like a poorly run LensCrafters, and I stopped going to LensCrafters for the same reasons. Save yourself the frustration and go somewhere that respects your time.

I was seen right on time and all of the staff were courteous. I came in specifically to try presbyopia eye drops, and Dr. Trottini was listed on the Vizz website as one who prescribes these drops. The technician mentioned that she wasn't sure if Dr. Trottini prescribed them, and went to check. I made it clear that was the primary reason for my visit and that I did not need prescription glasses. She came back, didn't say anything, and proceeded to dilate my pupils. Once I saw the doctor, he confirmed that he does not prescribe these eye drops due to risks they present (retinal detachment). I was a bit surprised but I appreciated his honest opinion. However, there was really no need for me to go through a comprehensive exam if I wasn't going to obtain a prescription for the drops, so I would have preferred to know at the outset that I would have to go elsewhere. That said, the doctor discussed alternatives with me including progressive glasses or multifocal contact lenses and I thought he was very personable and knowledgeable.

My wife and I have found the staff, and especially the girls at the reception desk, to be friendly, caring, and helpful. This is especially true when things get busy and a bit hectic. Paperwork has to be completed, and they do their best to make the process go as smooth as possible. With excellent doctors and staff, Outlook Eyecare is a great place to experience excellent eye care.

I am extremely disappointed with the service I received at Monroe Outlook Eye Care. They claimed to have performed a refractive state test on my eyes, which was never done. When I questioned the charge, they told me that because I signed off on the test, it was essentially my word against theirs. This is unacceptable and likely explains why their ratings are so low. It’s clear to me that they prioritize billing over patient care. This isn’t my first negative experience with them. During my first visit two years ago, Dr. Michael Trottini tried to convince me that I needed laser surgery, which was not necessary. He also insisted I had glaucoma, despite my explaining that my elevated eye pressure is due to a lazy eye—a condition previously diagnosed by a qualified doctor who took the time to explain that the shape of my eye is the main cause of the pressure. I had already been treated with glaucoma medication for over five years, which only worsened my vision. The drops were unnecessary and ineffective. I feel misled and taken advantage of. This doctor slacked off by giving me the same scripts that were given to me 2 years prior with no further testing or analysis. Patients deserve honesty, transparency, and care—not pressure tactics and questionable billing practices.
