First time visit. Staff was very nice and helpful especially after I learned i was out of network insured. I felt Dr Katan was very thorough and after examining me had more test performed as well as a call back to dilate my eyes. I appreciated his interest in learning more about my symptoms to get answers on current eye issues. I found his approach to be both holistic (home compress regime) and supported with prescription drops. A good blend of for modern medicine doctors. Shy of one star only because I was informed that I was out of network, but in fairness, I was given a next day appointment so that is at the same time also understandable.

There are not enough words to express my gratitude to Dr. Katan and his incredible team. They didn't just perform an eye exam, they quite possibly helped save my vision, and for that, I will be forever grateful. I've suffered from headaches and migraines for over 10 years, but I've always had 20/20 vision, so I typically only schedule an eye exam every 2–3 years. Recently, I noticed my headaches felt different. I also began experiencing episodes of blurry vision and lightheadedness, so I decided it was time for an eye exam. What I thought would be a routine appointment turned out to be one of the most important medical appointments of my life. When I checked in, I was offered additional imaging for an extra $40. I agreed without giving it much thought, simply thinking it couldn't hurt. Looking back, it was the best $40 I've ever spent. When Dr. Katan came into the exam room, I could immediately tell he had seen something concerning on those images. He explained that both of my optic nerves appeared swollen, a condition called papilledema. He took the time to explain his concerns, asked for my primary care physician's information, and provided clear recommendations and guidance on what to do next. Later that same week, my headaches became significantly worse. When I arrived at the emergency room with blurry vision in both eyes and the worst headache of my life, I was able to tell the medical team about Dr. Katan's findings. Because of that information, they immediately understood the urgency of my situation. I had an MRI within 45 minutes, received a preliminary diagnosis within about 90 minutes, and was admitted to the hospital for four nights for further evaluation and treatment. I truly believe that Dr. Katan's attention to detail, thoroughness, and willingness to investigate beyond a routine eye exam made all the difference. His expertise and genuine concern helped identify a serious condition before it caused permanent damage. My advice to everyone: say yes to the additional images. They are not an upsell, they are an invaluable diagnostic tool that can detect problems you don't even know you have. Those images helped uncover a condition that ultimately led me to receive urgent medical care, and I will always be thankful that I chose to have them done. Dr. Katan and his entire team are kind, compassionate, professional, and genuinely care about their patients. Thank you for listening, for paying attention, and for changing my life in ways I'll never forget. You have my deepest gratitude and highest recommendation.
This is the absolute best, most comprehensive care I’ve ever received in my 61 years of life. Dr Katan & his entire team are truly the epitome of quality patient care and service! An exemplary model of how offices should run and quality staff performance & give Dr Katan the highest recommendation possible! Bravo!
A huge thank you to Dr. Katan and his team—especially Samantha—for the outstanding service! They made my child feel so comfortable and right at home, which completely took the stress out of the appointment. I’d highly recommend Outstanding Vision Care to anyone.
The initial appointment was fine, but we didn’t find any glasses we liked—they all felt very flimsy. The second visit, when my 15-year-old son and I returned for eye dilation, felt noticeably colder and less welcoming. Six months later, I called to request a new printout for my son’s contact lens prescription and was told we would need to come back for yet another exam because the doctor had not “fit” him for contacts. This was frustrating, as I had specifically discussed my son wearing contacts for baseball with the doctor at the time. Overall, it felt like a complete waste of time. The unprofessional atmosphere and apparent personal issues made the experience even worse. I would not recommend this place.
