I have been a patient of Dr. Asmus at Point Richmond Optometry for 15 years. She and her whole staff are awesome. Long story short she literally saved by left eye by diagnosing me with a detached retina after I returned from a trip to Turkey in 2011 during my first visit to see her. She got me into surgery with a top retina specialist the very next day. She has been managing my eye health every year since then, helping me get the best cataract surgery and outstanding lens implant solution I could ever imagine from an awesome ophthalmologist in Berkeley. Throughout the last 15 years she has been diligent in managing my eye pressure and stopped the progression of glaucoma dead in its tracks, with annual exams and continued treatment. At the age of 82 I have amazing vision!

Dr. Yu is one of the best healthcare providers I’ve ever had. She is professional, kind, and genuinely cares about her patients, which makes every visit comfortable. I also love how advanced her clinic is. The imaging technology means I don’t have to get my pupils dilated, and the scans not only help with my prescription but also check for any abnormalities and help catch potential issues early. I’ve been seeing Dr. Yu for over 10 years and can’t recommend her enough. Her front desk staff are also organized, courteous, and always pleasant to work with.

I feel so privileged to have such professional expertise right here in our community of Point Richmond and access to the latest advanced technology for Eye exams! Paula and her staff were so kind, punctual and clearly experts at the tasks they performed. I was out in less than an hour after 5 high tech eye test stations and a detailed consultation with Dr. Paula.

Dr Yu and the team are fabulous. This is a wonderful community optometrist run by a delightful group of people. Several of their staff have been there for many years. I've been going for almost a decade. This is exactly the "shop local" option that you're looking for. Kind people, fair prices, great doctors, kind and generous staff.

Dr. Asmus and the staff are wonderful and the selection of frames is really nice. The quality of the lenses I received from Point Richmond Optometry are noticeably better than any I've received elsewhere. I'll never go anywhere else for eye care and glasses.
