I debated on posting but it really got to me. Dr.Shelton is an amazing person, great personality. The receptionist not so much. Shes very rude. I came in to do the class for my contacts. I was trying so hard and even the lady that was helping me said I was doing good. It did take me longer than normal and still had issues getting them in. I brought my grandmother with me to this appointment. She walked out and started crying over the way the receptionist was talking to me. Shes hateful. Truly needs a new job. I want to try again with the fitting but I think im going to just stick with glasses. I have thick skin I can take the attitude and rudeness. Her attitude is horrendous.

So I was referred here by the VA for community care. I was scheduled for Friday, April 24th at 10 am, which you can see in the screenshot from the VA app below. The business calls me yesterday, the 22nd, to confirm my appointment for Thursday, the 23rd, at 3:15pm. So completely different than what they scheduled. I told them the appointment date was incorrect and told them the correct date and time. They said this was incorrect and reiterated their new date and time. Suspiciously they called my wife’s number for this confirmation, not mine. I called the VA and confirmed with them the Friday appointment which they did. Anyway, I move work obligations around and show up Thursday at the 3:10 for their 3:15 appointment with less than a day’s notice. Of course they have canceled that appointment and they can’t see me at the correct appointment or their new appointment. So, for any vets that get referred here I would suggest you request a different provider. They don’t honor any appointments apparently, the original or made up ones. Edit: added additional photos of the text messages confirming the appointment a full week out and two days before. I have read the owner’s response. What I would say if she had actually called me today would be that no one in her office cared about seeing me or the appointments. No one tried to offer a solution. The only thing the business seems to be concerned about is this review, not actually serving customers or veterans who have been referred to them. When I showed up in person why should I have to be the proactive one and ask to see a manager or the doctor? Why wouldn’t a mix up like this be a priority? They only seem to be concerned when their inaction is brought to public attention. They were more than happy to do nothing when I brought this to their attention on the 22nd. They were more than happy to do nothing when I showed up in person.
I am a new patient at this practice. I am very pleased with the service I received. Dr. Shelton and her staff were welcoming and provided competent care. They have a large selection of affordable frames.
2\nBe clear. This one star review has nothing to do with professional vision or doctor shelton. This review has to do with the extremely rude receptionist that has worked there since I was a child. I have read several reviews on how rude she is.And how this issue is not being addressed by anybody. Good help is hard to find? What anybody else be willing to schedule without being ugly about it?; I am a hundred percent positive that if you hate your job that much , you should probably find a new one. I have been going to this practice for over 25 years and this woman has done nothing but get increasingly ugly. Not to mention in front of children and talking to fellow staff like they dont matter! Staff that were being kind and considerate and talking to us like we were people and not trash! Ah, clinics are always backed up. But they need to understand that we work as well and have to schedule these appointments months in advance and request off the days that we need to go to these appointments. It is not easy for us when things like this happen, either.. and to finish this up, I was told that my appointment on December 22nd was rescheduled, because it was the week of Christmas.I am sorry but I think Christmas comes on December 25th every year. And therefore , if you do not want to do appointments on the week of christmas , then they should not be scheduled that close to christmas. Again I would like to say that Dr. Shelton and the other staff are amazing!!
I called to see about scheduling an appointment. I was referred by Marion eye clinic bc they no longer take my insurance. I called and whoever does the scheduling is rude. Very shortly she said that it would be April or march before they could see me. I understand that bc it seems like the eye clinic are packed however before I could ask any questions in mid sentence she hangs up on me. I never leave reviews but I saw others have had the same experience with rude staff & I just could not believe she hung on me.
