So its mixed review The actuall appointment was great the prescription is great Helping chose lenses that fit my face great .... its everything after has been a bit of a disaster I've had wrong filters on the lessens putting prescription in only one of the lenses. Ot both (on 2 pairs) The engraving ment to be "invisible" is causing a smug in my view I thought it was just a usually needs cleaning but nope its the way lenses were made why put it in main site!??! Oh and they might have destroyed my old pair too ( to be fair they said might happen but not willing to refund that one also this cost 1.7k kinda not comming back for any lenses. But doctors are good think there lab / suppliers have issues till thats fixed i don't think im going to be using that side of the business 🙃

It’s been over 3 years since my last appointment with Redmond Eye Doctors. Today, i find the entire staff exceptionally kind, patient and mindful of my needs for care and relief. From Dr. Rania who took my emergency call from out of town over the weekend and immediately scheduled an appointment, and the receptionist who quickly verified insurance and updated my files, with Rubina, Dr John’s assistant, asking very relevant questions regarding my eye injury. The service from Dr. John was timely, impeccable and quite revealing. The result was soothing relief to both mind and body in what felt like only minutes. I truly appreciate you all. I feel very fortunate to have your professional team only 1/2 mile from home. I’m already looking forward to my next follow up visit. Thank you!
This was my first visit to Redmond Eye Doctors for my annual eye exam. The clinic is well organized and has impressive technology, but unfortunately my overall experience was disappointing, which is why I’m giving 1/5 stars. Dr. John Kikuchi: 5/5 – Dr. John was excellent—thorough, knowledgeable, and took time to explain my results, including my eye pressure readings. Staff experience: 1/5 – I was charged $50 despite having in-network insurance with a $10 copay. The assistant performed a retina scan without clearly explaining it was optional or that it would cost an additional $39. I also felt uncomfortable with comments made during testing. After learning my previous eye exam was done in India six months ago, the assistant questioned how I could drive or read signs based on the device results, which felt dismissive and unnecessary. Later, Dr. John explained the automated measurements were inaccurate and that my vision was normal aside from dry eye. I had also confirmed during check-in that I wanted a sunglasses prescription that would qualify for insurance coverage. After Dr. John provided and recommended the prescription for sun-related eye discomfort, a different receptionist later told me insurance wouldn’t cover it and refused to verify with the doctor. Overall, Dr. John provided great care, but the communication, billing transparency, and professionalism from staff left me feeling dismissed and unfairly judged.
Cons: The front desk (one staff member in particular) was hostile, chilly and gatekeeping around my prescription, VSP benefits, and lens pricing, once she thought I was not going purchase contact lenses or glasses from them. * A VSP/material benefits sheet with my name on it was used for my quote, but I was told it “belonged to them” when I asked to keep it. * When I tried to document the quote, the interaction became awkward and obstructive. * When I called the next day and asked for my records, the office sent them within a few hours, but the copy itself appears incomplete, with portions of the document visibly cut off. I value transparency, patient choice, and straightforward communication and I will not go back. Pros: I also want say what was good about the office. Dr. Kikuchi was patient, thorough, and informative. He took the time to address my concerns, and I had no complaints about the eye exam itself. The office also appears to have good diagnostic equipment, and the technician who performed the testing was thorough.
My experience with the front desk was very disappointing. After my eye exam, I paid my copay at the front desk. The payment was approved on the payment terminal, but it appeared as declined in their system. I immediately showed the staff member that the charge had already gone through on my bank account. Instead of acknowledging that it might have been a processing delay, they insisted that I pay again and said they would “make a note” and send me a bill later if needed. I felt like I was being treated as though I wasn’t telling the truth, even though I had proof that the payment had been processed. Unfortunately, this interaction left a very negative impression, and I do not plan to return.
