Two stars because the staff is (mostly) kind, but every single time that you have an appointment here, expect to wait at LEAST an hour before you are even called back, and if you manage to find somewhere to sit in the absolutely swarmed lobby, you’re lucky. This is a consistent problem at this office, as I have been a long term patient and cannot name a single time I was in and out in anything less than a hour and a half at BEST past appointment time. Edit: Review was written as I was actively still waiting for my appointment. Two hours later when asked how long it would be, we were told they didn’t know because they “only had two doctors today”, which wasn’t the first appointment we’ve been told something very similar. When we continued to express that this was a ridiculous amount of time to be expected to wait while watching people who had come for appointments an hour after us be called back, seen, and checked out, and that we most likely would not bother making another appointment, the receptionist informed us that they “are the only retina specialist in town, so…”. This is 1) blatantly false as a quick search will tell you, and 2) just an entirely unprofessional response.

We complained about waiting so long after a 2:40 appointment and at 4:20 were finally seen by the doctor. The doctor and staff are great, but the complaint wasn't taken well by Kristen I believe her name is, their office manager at the Jenks Ave location in Panama City, FL. She addressed us in a room to the side with the door open near the back lobby where others were able to listen. She let us know this was a day they were just busy and I said no, you're triple booked. She said no we aren't! We are just busy and we do a real good job of getting everyone in and out in an hour and 15 minutes. I explained this is not the case and has not been the last few visits as people were crammed in the first lobby so full people were standing! Lots of the patients are elderly in wheelchairs, have walkers, and canes. She admitted then of seeing work in's all day and said if we knew the number of people seen that day it would astound us. (The very definition of triple booked, just saying). She was rude as if he had no right to say anything and we drove an hour to get there as we don't live in Panama City! We didnt feel heard, no apology, in fact she named our check in time at 1:50 being so early. Again, out of town, rain, and spring break traffic! We told her we weren't worried about the time we got there it was the 2:40 appointment time and not called until close to 4:00! Now we feel his chart is now noted in their computer and will likely get treated poorly in the future because of a legitimate complaint! Our time is just as valuable. There is a need to continue going to these specialists and we hope to NEVER set foot in that office as long as she is there. The rest of the staff and the doctors are phenomonal!!! We aren't the only ones in the lobby who said we will not be back if at all possible.
My parents go here and everyone is super nice. They are treated well here, and that means a lot to me.
I had an appointment on the 8th the day after labor day . They called me and said they were overbooked and would I consider moving my appointment to Thursday instead. And of course I said yes. So we went and my appointment was for 09:30 at 10:00 am we hadn’t been called my wife asked with concerns they told her their i one person in front of me 5 people later we still wasn’t called. I walked up to the front desk and said my appointment was at 09:30 not at 10:23am . And i cancelled it and told them i will contact the Va. and Report them for lack of Service. As soon as I got out of the office I contacted the va and Community care center. And Reported them for lack of Services!
