I drive 70 miles to come to Robbins Eye. My wife and I were patients in their Hornell office. They were forced to close that office, but because of the care, knowledge and the professionalism of the doctors and staff, we did not want to go anywhere else! You will never regret choosing Robbins Eye!

I had a very frustrating experience with this eye care office. I scheduled my appointment in 2025, when this practice was still accepting my insurance, for an 8:00 AM visit. However, when I arrived for my appointment, I was told that as of January 2026 they no longer accept my insurance. This change was never communicated to me in advance, which immediately raised concerns. When I tried to ask why I wasn’t notified ahead of time especially since my appointment was made while they were still in-network the receptionist stated that they “don’t verify insurance.” That response didn’t sit right with me, as verifying insurance is typically a standard part of patient intake. As I continued to ask reasonable questions, the receptionist became dismissive, got up, and said she “didn’t sign up for this,” which felt very unprofessional. I was then told by the office manager that it was my insurance company’s responsibility to notify me. The office manager also explained that they stopped accepting this insurance due to reimbursement rates, which is understandable from a business standpoint. However, what is not understandable is how long-time patients are treated in the process. There was no proactive communication, no accountability, and no effort to handle the situation with professionalism or respect. Afterward, I contacted my insurance provider directly, and they explained that it is the provider’s responsibility to verify coverage and inform patients of changes like this. They also mentioned they manage thousands of providers and cannot track or notify patients about each office’s participation changes. Overall, I felt the receptionist and office manager, was not only unhelpful but also unwilling to take accountability for the situation. The lack of communication about an important insurance change, combined with poor customer service and unprofessional behavior especially toward a patient who has been coming here for years made this a very disappointing experience. I would not recommend this office based on how this situation was handled. *I do want to add that there was an optometrist who came out and medical assistant that was very polite and attempted to understand the situation and this review is on no reflection of them.

I came to Robbins eye desperate for help with my severe dry eyes which had impacted my quality of life for two years. I was at another eye doctor and had done every dry eye available. I am happy to say that within a few months I found relief after getting on a new regimen with robbins eye care! I am so thankful! Lisa

I had the most wonderful experience at Robbins eye. Every last person who I saw was absolutely so attentive and really listened to all my concern’s! Dr. Yorks went above and beyond during my appointment.!!! She really is the best eye doctor!!!

My experience at Robbins Eye has been nothing but good. I am seen at the time of my appointment and processed through the exams with friendly and efficient care. I have found this to be true the many years I have been in this practice.
