Two big things: 1. I recently moved to another state, and my new optometrist asked me to obtain my current eye prescription before my first appointment. I called the front desk. Not only was the attendant extremely rude and detached, but when I asked for my prescription and explained the situation, she said I had to pick it up in person and didn't offer any alternatives. Remember, I already told her I live over 1,000 miles away. Then, I asked for an email alternative or a fax. The attendant said she could "try" to email me, but it wasn't her fault if the email didn't make it into my inbox - and then cut the conversation short. I understand if she was facing limitations due to hardware or company policy, but the way this interaction was handled was entirely unprofessional. In the future, this company may want to invest in workplace communication training, an online portal, or even a better email server. 2. At my new optometrist's office, he had my glasses read by a lensometer and conducted a typical exam. It was a shock to find out the glasses dispensed at Salganik Vision Group & Optique had a prescription that was entirely way too high for me. More than likely, their error is one of the main contributing factors to my recurrent headaches and nausea over the past year and a half. You may think, maybe something changed, and they could've reassessed? During that time, I also went in for a contact consult and eye exam. They assured me my prescription was the same. I am someone who can't function without their glasses. If I'm awake, I have them on. When you go to a doctor, you want to trust that they and their staff have your best interests at heart. The unprofessionalism I have witnessed from this company in both the clinical and office settings is staggering. If you are looking for an eye doctor, do not bring your business here.
