I love the glasses at SEE. They have the most unique, fun, and beautiful designs. This is my second pair I've gotten from SEE and the vision wasn't very clear and they had to be recut to fix the clarity. Justin and Jason were so helpful and patient with the entire process, even when my insurance website was down for an entire week (count your days EyeMed). Such a friendly staff and so knowledgeable about glasses. They also take their time adjusting your frames to make sure they're just right and never make you feel rushed - even when I went to look for frames 10 minutes before they closed. Will definitely come back here for more frames in the future!
Alba, one of the SEE specialists at Columbus Ave, is the best! She’s one of the reasons I’ve been coming to this location specifically for expert guidance and support for all my optical needs. She & Dr. Rauch have never led me astray in terms of getting my prescription just right, and in finding a set of frames that best compliment my face and that I’ll love for years. Can’t go wrong with this duo!
At See Optics, the staff is not only friendly but also efficient. Dr. Jessica Rauch, the optometrist, is outstanding – thorough and knowledgeable. My visit from beginning to end was smooth and stress-free.
I was born blind. Metaphorically and soulfully. For years, decades, an effective lifetime by some reckonings, I wandered about in murky darkness, awkwardly stumbling about like a bat, relying on my skills of spatial awareness and indeed again bat-like sense of hearing. As I wandered my old neighborhood of New York’s charming upper west side in search of whimsical sentimentality, in a flurry of ambulance sirens that deafened my hearing, I happened upon a marvelous accident, for what I had thought to be the old World Cafe (today some dumb clothing outlet called, “Vuori” whatever the hell that means) turned out to be my salvation. It was See - the world’s premier eye care experts. It mattered little to them that I was a disheveled, bewildered mess, prone to wild and irrational behavior, much less that I was in fact medically blind, for the kind manager, Jason, and his able and tragically single assistant, Jill, immediately sat me down and began putting me at ease with both their warm, congenial manner and stellar customer care. They offered to let me try on some of their world class and very reasonably-priced eyewear even though I am a world class lummox and lo - something indescribable happened. As the spectacles touched my schnozz, my darkened world began to alight with color, a blaze of brilliance burned my poetically vestigial retinas and as the fear began to settle I realized it: I could finally see. I mean, really see. Really, really, really see. Like Michelangelo’s paintings of the saints in ecstasy in the seat of the Holy See, see. Like a person who has done ayahuasca while skydiving see. As unto that guy in A Space Odyssey who says, “My God: it’s full of stars!” see. That kind of sight, my friend, I tell you can be achieved if ever and only at the aforementioned See. I thanked Jason, who regaled me with tales of his precocious and adorable child (she’s really good at sports and math), as he talked me down from the hyperventilation caused by my new found ocular agency, and then his hypercompetent bachelorette assistant, Jill, who could fight crime, before I walking out a new man, a more confident human and a better person. I must add that I both could now truly see well and I looked fabulous doing it. It was, in summation, the very best day of my life and I owe it all to the fine folks (Jason and Jill) at See! Dear reader, if you take the time to peruse these humble scribblings, please take heed: whether you’re vision impaired or a fan of style, nay - panache, or are just a spiritually sightless vole of soul such as I was, I encourage you, I beseech you, I exhort you to try the eyewear and the quality care that comes with the fine folks at See. Do so, and you’ll truly see. You’ll all see….. - A Satisfied Seer
