Awful new patient experience. I should have read all the 1 star reviews before coming here. I am almost at a loss for words what I experienced this morning here.
To begin, they took me into the back 25 mins late from my 9AM appointment. Red flag #1.
I was brought back and had normal xrays done as a new patient. Was told that after the Dr sees me, they will take me into another exam room for the cleaning. The doctor comes in to examine the xrays and myself and said everything looks great. No concerns.
The assistant comes back and says they have to schedule the cleaning for another day. I said what? I scheduled this appointment as a new patient for a normal cleaning. That is this appointment!
After her explaining to me that they do things "differently" there, the "office manager" comes up to me and explains that the deep cleaning for "bacteria under the gums" is something that my insurance requires prior auth for.
I said "what the heck are you talking about? The doctor literally was in here 2 mins ago and said everything looks great. Nothing was EVER mentioned about a "deep" cleaning or any "bacteria under the gums" that needs prior auth and to be scheduled another day."
She then went and spoke with the doctor for literally 10 seconds and got "clarification" and started to make changes on the computer for what I needed next, which was legitimately a simple annual cleaning.
I was completely turned off and I ended up telling her that I was leaving and taking my care elsewhere. She simply replied "ok!"
No apology, no explanation. Nothing.
To me, this was clear as day them trying to do unnecessary care on me by having me come back for a "deep cleaning" to jack up the price, which is completely unnecessary and more importantly, UNETHICAL.
And even if it was miscommunication between the Dr and the staff, that's still just as bad. I want nothing to do with a practice like this.
By far, the WORST experience I have ever had at a dentist. I will share with others to absolutely avoid coming here.
